Has anyone else had to take a tdap shot / tetanus shot while pregnant? My primary care physician has recommended me this shot and i’m curious if anyone else has taken it.

Yes i took it. It was described to me as it will give my son some antibodies for whooping cough. I only had a sore arm for a few days

Yep! I took it. I also only had a sore arm for a few days, no other symptoms & my baby is fine and healthy!

Yes, didn’t really feel any fever or anything after the shot, just a bit tired

It protects against whooping cough. I know an infant who died of whooping cough. I'd rather have an alive baby. 🤷

Yes, I took it around 28 weeks I believe and everything was fine with me and baby 💓

Yes! I received it sometime around 32-34 weeks. No issues with it (:

I skipped it and had no issues. The office recommended every pregnant woman get a tdap shot regardless of whether or not they needed one as their general policy. Usually you get a tdap once every 10 years and I had just gotten mine right before getting pregnant, so I should have been covered anyway. I didn’t want another dose so soon after and didn’t think it was a necessary risk.

I took it and am making every family member who will be around my baby get the shot as well if they have not been immunized in the past 10 years. The shot is not for you, it is to protect your baby
