Iโ€™m a Mama!

Title secured!!! My little one is here- she arrived on Aug 1 at 9:07pm at 37 weeks 3 days after a failed induction and eventual caesarean to her proud papa and even prouder mama! Iโ€™ve gained a new label and I couldnโ€™t be happier. Weโ€™ve been in the newborn trenches for almost 2 weeks now and I feel much confident now than when I initially brought her home! Weโ€™ve got this and so do all the FTMs.

2nd pregnancy no one cares

Currently 12 weeks with our second and my mood is so low. Lots to process being a high risk pregnancy, my 12 week scan was proven tricky with my c section scar limiting viewing (not helped by a wriggly baby) and needing an internal scan instead (still have to go for a rescan), feeling guilty for my 1st born we are having another and questioning if we are doing the right thing. I decided to tell my sisters yesterday and the reaction wasnโ€™t what Iโ€™d hoped for. Both think we are totally crazy and didnโ€™t seem too eager. I then told a co worker who I can trust and again, similar reaction. Itโ€™s like no one cares at all when you get pregnant again and basically judge you for your decision. These reactions have only made me feel worse and I now donโ€™t want to tell anyone we are having another. I donโ€™t remember feeling this low in my 1st pregnancy but Iโ€™m not even feeling excited or happy that Iโ€™m pregnant again โ˜น๏ธ

Low lying placenta & flying

I recently had my 20 week scan and the sonography told me my placenta was close to my birth canal. He didnโ€™t seem concerned at all, just a rescan at 32 weeks and that worst case scenario would be a c-section.

I was given no advice about what can/canโ€™t be done, but I have a two holiday booked in the next 6-7 weeks (no more than 3hour flights). I havenโ€™t yet spoken to the midwives as the sonograoher didnโ€™t make a big deal out of it, but googled and thereโ€™s mixed messages about flying. I wondered if anyone had a similar experience, or had any advice around flying?

NIPT gender screening

Hi all! I had the NIPT gender blood test when I was 9 weeks pregnant (now 14w4d). I was told itโ€™s 99% accurate. Just wondering if anyone else has had this?

Velcro Baby

My LO is 6 months on Sunday and she is the best thing ever. But she is a bit of a Velcro baby. If I leave her for a few minutes (even with her Nana or dad, she has a meltdown). I had planned to travel for 6 hours at the end of August for an appointment but have had to postpone it as it would mean flying to Manchester and back (from Belfast) and I just canโ€™t handle it if sheโ€™s upset the whole time. Does anyone have any advice or is going through this at the moment and can be a good sounding board?
