I honestly don’t know what to do 😭

My fiancé and I have always disagreed about when our daughter should start sleeping in her crib. She’s 3 months old now, and he really wants her to start sleeping in her crib because neither of us is getting enough sleep with her sleeping with me. And honestly, I completely understand where he’s coming from. I know we’re both exhausted and something probably needs to change eventually.

But I’m genuinely scared.

I’ve co-slept with her since she was about a week old. We tried the bassinet when she was little, but she absolutely hated it and would not settle in it. She got used to sleeping with me, and honestly, I got used to having her right beside me too. As exhausting as it can be, I actually sleep better when she’s next to me because I can hear her breathing, feel her moving, and check on her constantly.

Her crib is in her own room right next to ours, and I do have a baby monitor, so I know I would be able to see and hear her. But honestly, that still doesn’t completely ease my mind. I’m terrified of SIDS, and the thought of her being in another room while I’m asleep scares me so much. I feel like I would wake up constantly checking the monitor and wondering if she’s breathing, if she needs me, if something happened, or if I’m not going to hear her.

I always pictured waiting until at least around 6 months before trying to transition her, but now I’m questioning whether I’m being unreasonable. I know there’s never going to be a point where I’m completely free of worry because I’m her mom and I’m always going to worry about her. But she’s still so little, and I’m just not ready emotionally to have her sleeping away from me.

At the same time, I know my fiancé has a point. Neither of us getting enough sleep isn’t sustainable either, and I don’t want our exhaustion to start affecting us or our relationship. I just don’t want to make a decision out of exhaustion and then spend every night terrified that something is going to happen to my baby.

I feel completely stuck because I understand both sides. I want her to be safe, I want us both to get some sleep, but I also want to listen to my mom instincts. I’m not trying to keep her from her crib forever. I just don’t know when the right time is, and I’m honestly scared to make the wrong decision.

Am I being overly anxious about this, or did anyone else feel this way when their baby was around 3 months old? 😭 I could really use some advice from other moms who have been through this because I genuinely don’t know what to do.

I completely understand this! We tried the crib when we came home from the hospital and I couldn't sleep because I was so worried about him. We've been co-sleeping basically since we brought him home. We're starting to transition him to the crib now that he's almost 3 months. I feel like it was important that we were both ready for that change before we tried again.

We tried to make it as low stress as possible. We've started off slow, mostly with naps. There was a lot of trial and error, I rock or nurse to sleep. After I'm sure he's deep sleep I put him in his crib, feet first then legs and back then head on the mattress. If I don't his reflexes will wake him every freaking time. I think the most important thing is patience and grace. It definitely gets frustrating at times when nothing's working, those are the nights we co-sleep.

I'm not in love with my baby's dad

So, I have an interesting predicament.
I'm not feeling how I use to with my babys dad. Our baby has DS and my bf works 4-6 days a week swingshift, 12 hour days. I'm a SAHM.

We rarely go out together, when we do its at a comedy club for people he mostly likes. The last time we went, the opener asked who has old family members. Like 2 people replied, I noticed he wasnt getting much interaction so I shouted an answer out. My partner turned, asked why I'm yelling and, me with my PPD, PPA, and PPR (postpartum depression, anxiety, and rage) along with being ADHD and bipolar, i got really emotional. I got up and left.

Its like anytime I'm in a good mood for multiple consecutive days, he questions it. Not like "I'm happy you're in a good mood" but "you're being really talkative and its bothering me." So I've mostly stopped trying to talk to him unless its related to the house or our son.

We've been together since 2022.
I dont know if i should get a secret part job, ask his parents to watch baby boy, put the money aside from an apartment and just leave one day before texting him I cant be in a relationship or fvcking what. But I'm at a loss.

I suggested couples therapy, he thought just us talking would be all we needed. I've told him my issues and he'll get better for a few days and go back into it.

Am I just being too sensitive? There's so much more but I feel its already so long.

What should I do?

FTM here, my baby is 11 months old and I’m trying to decide if I should move her to her room or keep things as they are until I’m done breastfeeding. Right now she sleeps in my room, we co-sleep with a sidecar crib and I nurse her back to sleep every time she wakes up, usually every 1-2 hours maybe one or two 3-4 stretches at night. She takes naps in her room and likes her bed but the whole reason I started cosleeping was so I could stop getting out of bed every hour and actually get some sleep because it was really affecting my mental health. So I’m worried to start putting her in her room and half to start waking up/getting up and disrupting my sleep so much if she’s in her own room. I would like her to be able to sleep in her own room without waking up so much and I’m wondering if when I stop breastfeeding she’ll just go longer stretches without getting up. Also I’m not looking forward to night weaning and I feel like it’ll be easier to just stop breastfeeding than night wean and continue breastfeeding during the day. I want to stop when she’s a year so I don’t have long to wait if I decide to but what should I do? Advice?

Sleeping

My baby girl who is 7 weeks prefers to sleep with her head tilted to the right side. anytime I move it to the left she gets uncomfy and wants back to the right, my doctor said this is normal and it’s possible she was like this in the womb as she was breech? Just wondering if anyone has any tips or has dealt with this before?
