I feel so bad as I've grown up with the mantra to not wake a sleeping baby but after almost a month of varied split nights I'm not experimenting with capping daytime total sleep at 2 hours and ensuring he gets 10 hours straight at night. Tbf a few times when I just walk into the bedroom he automatically wakes up without me having to do anything anyway. But out of three days tried he's slept though two of those nights but I still feel so bad but your girl is tiyaaaaaad!

We do this! Protect the night sleep!
We cap day naps at 2 hours 15 mins and then his night sleep will be 10.5 hours!
He can get a little cranky during the day but generally it works well! He's 7.5 months now

If I didn’t cap my toddlers naps he’d sleep all day and party all night!

Yeah might have to wake earlier in the mornings to avoid split nights too....they are brutal

I learned very quickly that “don’t wake a sleeping baby” applied mostly to night sleep and not /all/ sleep.
Every once in a while I’ll let LO sleep longer, especially if it’s earlier in the day— but I’ve started capping them at 2.5 hours or less, as needed.
(LO does a final nap starting between 5 and 7pm, so we’ve had to cap earlier to preserve a bedtime of 9-10pm)
