So my relative is having a party soon in the evening and I've sent my apologies. Im breastfeeding and co sleeping my 10 month old. She feeds 3 times in night too. My sisters are being judgemental and making me feel bad saying I can't live my life like this e.g. never going out in the evening etc. I don't actually mind how it is right now. They dont think its right we sleep in bed together and that I NEED to get her in her own room. I feel like lying and telling them she does sometimes just to appease them. Why do people make you feel guilty for doing what works for you. Ive tried to get her in crib but she wont go. I also dont want to give her to anyone for babysitting yet. I don't feel ready. Just wanted to vent really.. feel a bit low
Edit: also only naps on me in day and they again think im being stupid but I am trying

I’m 2.5years post partum with my daughter, we cosleep, feed in the night and I will never leave her with a babysitter. End of story. People can think what they like!
Remind them it’s your baby, your choice what you do with them and how you care and parent them.
Cosleeping is biologically normal and only the western world who want women back to work asap make it so frowned upon!

10 months is still so young. People expect babies to be independent so soon. It’s also a bit dramatic to say you can’t live your life like this, you’re not even a year in and there will be plenty of time to go to parties when you and your little girl are ready! Listen to your gut and ignore others advice when it feels wrong for you. My only parenting regrets come from when I ignore my gut instincts and go by what other people suggest when they make me feel like I should be doing stuff a certain way.

If you and your baby are happy, that’s all that matters. Don’t feel pressured by other people, they are not your babies mother - you are. I also cosleep and nurse him throughout the night and he has not and will not be spending overnight with anyone but my husband or I because that’s who my baby feels safe and wants to be with. Maybe they can’t live their life like that and they’re projecting, but that doesn’t have to have anything to do with you. I would be an anxious mess being without my baby overnight and couldn’t live my life like that - I’d much prefer not going out to that and our babies are happier and more securely attached for it, in my opinion 🤷🏻♀️

Mine is almost 3yo now and I still don't go out on an evening as he relies on me for bedtime and night wakes. So you absolutely can live your life like that if that works for you! It's what works for us.
You also don't need to get her in her own room. It's completely biologically normal to co sleep.
You don't have to try and do anything other than what works for you and your baby.

I would tell them they have absolutely no clue about what YOU and your family need... I missed out on evening and I keep doing it because I m tired and can't live my life as I used to childless... My kids are young now and it's not forever.

Don't feel under pressure to do anything you dont want to. My LG is nearly 14 weeks and since she was 4 days old she has refused to sleep anywhere except either on me or beside me, we co sleep every night because she just screams if I put her in her crib, and I'm totally ok with it, as long as she needs/wants to be beside me she will. At the end of the day at some point she wont want to anymore and thats ok too, right now its what works for us, we both get sleep and she is content and feels safe next you me. I have lied to certain people I know would judge the situation just because its easier but try not to let it get to you chick, do what feels right for you both and what works for you. 💜💜 my girl only naps on me during the day to, you are not alone 🥰🥰

One thing I’ve realized is that mothers are jugded no matter what! I sleep trained my baby and she sleeps in her own room but the amount of judgement I’ve gotten from my family and friends is crazy! Also, I had to go back to work when my LO was only 10months old, it broke my heart everyday and I quit after two months but guess who made me feel bad again? If you guessed my family and friends, you guessed right! I was also judged that I didn’t stop breastfeeding at 15 months old. NHS advices 2years+ by the way.
At the end of the day, ignore them and just do what works for you and you LO. You are doing an incredible job! ❤️
I am tearing up reading all of these supportive messages. Thank you all so much. Wish cosleeping was more widely accepted xx
