How would you feel?

I had 2 c-sections and my BD made the comment that the sound my flesh made when being cut by the doctor was the same sound the flesh of the pig makes when he and his uncles cut it up after slaughtering.
I said it is not very nice to compare me to a pig but he just said he was surprised that it was the same sound.

To be fair he isn’t comparing you, he’s comparing the sound 😅

I think that’s kind of interesting actually lol

Apparently pig flesh is the closest to human!

I did smell the cauterising smell both time and it smelt like cooked meat

I’d be deeply concerned tbh. I dunno if I’d be offended. I just think that’s a strange thing to say.

I wouldn't be offended. Id prolly laugh and say well at least when I got cut open I had a competent professional doing it! Lol jokingly of course!

Even if this is true, what a bizarre takeaway from the surgery 😮 and even more bizarre to share with you

Damn he heard it? I didn't hear it. I wanted to see but they don't allow it. I heard them staple me 🥲 and clean the poop out.

As someone who has a partner who runs a farm and slaughters pigs, I’d find it funny. Theres nothing offensive about it. Sounds like a dude just being a dude

Avatar

But it’s not the same sound all

Avatar

That's actually not as insulting as it sounds startling like hopefully he didnt enjoy that sound I dont know just sounds kinda creepy

Grief/bereavement during pregnancy

I am 27 weeks pregnant, first time mum to be. I lost my mum in June this year to cancer when I was around 17 weeks pregnant. It was unexpected.

I’m looking for advice for any Mums who have lost their own mum at any time, and how you have coped. Obviously, losing my mum whilst pregnant is one of the hardest things I’ve had to do and I mourn all the things she won’t get to experience with me.

Any advice is welcome and I’m sorry if any of you are part of this horrible club along with me 🤍

Failed hearing test

Hi guys, my baby is just over 2 weeks and before we left the hospital when he was born he failed his hearing test in the left ear, right was fine so they booked us another appointment, the left ear failed again and since has failed one more test so we’ve been told he likely has permanent hearing loss in the left ear but they want us to come back again next week for the same test (this will be the 4th) and if they get the same results he’ll he referred to paediatrics.. has anyone else had any experience in this and was baby okay? Any stories or advice would be appreciated ❤️We are so worried and feel so bad for our little boy. It’s very unexpected as there’s no history of hearing loss in our families. I’m now worrying about everything 😩

Fundal Height Measurement

I first had my bump measured at 28 weeks and measured 25cm, sent for a growth scan and baby was plotted on the 97th percentile. I’ve just moved up north and had my first meeting with my new midwife at 32 weeks - she measured my bump and it was 27cm, she didn’t seem worried and instead said I carried quite neatly. She said she’ll review again at my 34 week appointment and go from there. I had a scan a week ago due to reduced movements and everything came back normal - baby on 80th percentile and good amount of fluid etc. Should I be concerned? I know my midwife isn’t worried, so I shouldn’t be, but it’s stuck in my mind!

Hospital bag

Hello!! So the time has come to pack the hospital bag, however I have no idea what to pack! I’ve obviously googled what to put in it so have a rough idea, but just wondered if people had some thoughts on what to pack? ☺️

FED UP

I just want to make sure I’m not alone…
I don’t know if it’s the heat or what…
I’m 31 weeks and I’m absolutely fed up!!!
I’m exhausted trying to carry on working to 36 weeks full time and looking after my EXTREMELY energetic 4 1/2 year old🥲.
We’ve wanted another baby for so long but I haven’t enjoyed pregnancy one bit this time I’ve been in and out of hospital for months and now planned to have baby at 37 weeks due to complications but I’m just so done.
I’m desperate to leave work but want as long as possible off.

Someone just please tell me it’s not just me. Feel like I’ve completely lost myself in this pregnancy.

Ps. I JUST WANT A GLASS OF ROSÈ🙃🥹.
