Guys, so my husband decided to put our son to sleep, but while he was still on his lap he decided to play PS5. My son woke up so my husband called me to put him to sleep. At this point I’m already annoyed cuz why couldn’t you just wait to put him down first? While I’m putting him to sleep he’s still playing games and getting annoyed that he’s losing which is distracting my son so I’m struggling to put him down. Once he was done with playing (I’m still struggling to put my son to sleep) he says “didn’t play as much as I want but it’ll do, I’m going to sleep”. My blood is boiling. Am I overreacting? I feel like I’m going insane.

You aren’t overreacting. If anything you are under reacting. He needs to prioritize his life better.

Um...I would've unplugged his game. Do your duties (work and parenting) then you can play!! That behavior he had is unacceptable. I don't mind gaming or hobbies to unwind but hobbies ain't supposed to interfere with your real life responsibilities. This is coming from a gamer mom. My husband is a gamer too but he gets to game more than me because I'm usually dealing with the kid or making dinner or whatever. My husband uses breaks in his game to help corral the kid if I'm busy doing whatever. But he pulls his weight and he still games. How hard is it to do your duties then you can game?

That sounds incredibly frustrating and you are not overreacting. Your emotions are absolutely valid. My husband works 10am-7pm on weekends and then sometimes still wants to go sit outside and smoke cigars for hours once he gets home. Meanwhile I’ve had our 2 month old daughter alone all day while she’s been struggling with gas and only wanting to contact nap. I ask him to step in and he gives me an attitude about being expected to be our child’s father even after a long day of work. I would be absolutely livid if he saw I was struggling with the baby after he got to participate in his hobbies and instead of offering to help just went to bed.
It’s sooooooo annoying like I’m already the default parent, I shouldn’t have to parent you too. He thinks things are easier for me because I breastfeed. No, I struggle too being a mum doesn’t make me superhuman.
