single mom guilt 🥲

My daughter is like 8 and 1/2 months and it’s so hard to not feel guilty when I try to do small things like clean or use the bathroom because she cries so hard for me.

She doesn’t want to spend time with anyone else and it’s getting really challenging. I know it’s just because she’s going through some rough teething. But I always feel so sad when she cries and says mama between her little screams and pleas.

But I can’t pour from an empty cup. I just don’t know how to not feel guilty when using the bathroom, it’s so hard to manage.

I feel the same way. I started just bringing my son with my and setting him on the floor with one of his toys or grabbing a hairbrush or something for him to play with since he gets so upset when I hand him to someone else. He does do a little better now that he is closer to a year old though! I’m sure your little one will start doing better too. It helps me to remember that all of the hard phases won’t last, and things will get easier again

I had a rough day today too. My son just turned seven months old. I put him in his pack n play with some toys so I could shower. At first he was fine… until he wasn’t. He was screaming for ten minutes by the time I got to him but it’s been a week since I’ve been able to shower it had to happen. He was attached to me the rest of the day, refused his second nap, and I couldn’t get anything done. I felt very defeated and the guilt was eating at me all day. It’s hard to figure out what to do in the moment. Some days are worse than others. I say all that to remind you that you aren’t alone in your feelings. 🩵 I’m sorry you guys had a tough day!

Poor daddy!

Anyone else having/had this issue ??

I'm a first time mum and exclusively breastfeeding our daughter
She's only just under 2 weeks old, but almost every time she's held by dad she screams the place down and won't settle.

Unfortunately due to being on deployment during the pregnancy he was unable to do the whole talking to the bump thing and now I feel so bad for him.

He's acting fine but I know deep down it's absolutely killing him that she won't settle with him

Anyone had this issue or have any suggestions?

The heat.. what do I do

My baby has a fan in his room & the window open but the Tommee tippee egg still says it’s 27 degrees🥴
He’s only in a nappy but is there anything I can do to make the room cool down more before I go to bed?

It’s reached 25/26 before and he’s been fine but walking into his room is like a sauna it’s ridiculous - ours isn’t much better.

Feeding during heatwave

Wanting other mums opinions…
I have a 3 month old baby which I formula feed.
Between feeds would you offer your baby a few sips of water inbetween as we’re in a heatwave, or do you just offer more feeds?
At the moment as it’s so hot I don’t want him to get dehydrated so I fed every 3 hours. Is that enough or not?

Being treated like a know-it-all and feeling guilty for having a chill baby

I have 2 kids, my eldest is 3 and my youngest is 4 months old.

I have started going to more classes with my baby and have been meeting with and talking to other mums which has been lovely. I didn't do it so much last time because I had pretty bad anxiety and really struggled generally.

As a second-time mum I do feel far more confident and comfortable, but with that being said she is a totally different baby to her brother and I'm still learning new things every day. I do not see myself as a very experienced parent lol

None of the other mums I have been chatting to have any other kids, they're all first time mums, so I try to refrain from talking about my bigger kid mainly because they might not be interested in the toddler stuff yet and I don't want to come across like I'm trying to say I have more on my plate or that I have it harder or something, because having just one baby is hard enough and I don't want them to feel invalidated. Idk if I'm making sense. Anyways.

My baby girl is really chilled out. (Completely different from her brother who was a reflux velcro baby who never slept a full night til he was 2 and only napped on me)

Baby girl sleeps anywhere, feeds and then burps and barely spits up, she had a little bit of silent reflux as a newborn but it doesn't bother her anymore. She's so smiley and just generally easier but I don't know if it just feels easier because i have a bit more confidence in myself.

Whenever the other mums are complaining and venting I struggle to add to the conversation and relate. They've obviously picked up on it and will make comments like "...but not *my baby*, she doesn't do that does she?" Or "you'll not know what I mean" if they're talking about relentless crying or lack of sleep etc.

I do say that my son was very similar and baby girl just has a different nature, I joke she's just a bit lazy like her dad 😅 She sleeps through the night but I haven't told anyone because I can just imagine the eye rolls. Maybe once every few days she will randomly wake up, but I just feed her back to sleep. I just lie and say she does that every night.

They will sometimes ask for advice but it seems like they're trying to get me to admit to some top secret methods I must be using to have a chill baby when in reality that's just how she is. We're very lucky she hasn't had any milk issues or medical issues, I have no idea how she sleeps so well, she's just a high-sleep needs kind of baby so will happily nod off if I get the timing right. I just google most things honestly. If I'm struggling to understand her shifting wake windows as she gets older I just google it and readjust. I've told them that and they say they can't figure it out and their babies only nap for 20 minutes. I say that's also really normal but idk, I just keep quiet now and feel awkward.

Broken voice ?

My 3.5 month old has been really fussy these days (I think it might have to do with early teething). But she has been so inconsolable. She scream cries A LOT and it’s hard to console her - to a point where it now sounds like she’s got a broken voice / sore throat😭. I feel so awful and terrible.
Has anyone else experienced this before?
