Opinions please on celebrating big brother
Am I overthinking this or does this sound like a nice idea?
I’m due my baby girl in December, and I’ve been thinking a lot about how much my 3-year-old’s life is going to change. He’s always been at home with me and is so excited about becoming a big brother.(most if the time)
When we bring the baby home, I’m thinking of getting him a little present “from” his baby sister. Since we’ll be decorating the house to welcome the baby, I was also thinking of doing a little something special for him too — maybe a half-blue, half-pink cake saying “Big Brother & Little Sister”, some Big Brother balloons and a few decorations just for him.
Obviously the main focus will be welcoming our baby girl, but I’d love for him to feel celebrated and special too, because becoming a big brother is such a huge change for him.
Would you do something like this, or do you think it’s unnecessary and I should just focus on the baby? I’d love to hear what other mums did when their first child became a big brother/sister. Is this spoiling him too much should i just b focusing on making it special for baby
