Am I overreacting?

My husband and I both work and sometimes we both work on the weekend. My MIL watches our two young children on these days (3.5 yo and 14 mo). There have been many times over the years when I have arrived home (after an 8 hour shift) to my son still in his pj's watching Netflix. I've expressed my concerns about how much tv he watches, I've also brought up that we live very close to parks and that he should not be watching too much tv, especially Netflix.
My husband doesn't care that he watches tv all day but says he prefers that he watches our VHS collection instead of Netflix.
The last few shifts I've been coming home to my son running to turn off the tv (even though I can hear the tv from outside). Or meeting me at the door to say his sister wanted to watch (insert Netflix show).
I'm starting to get really concerned with him taking advantage of my MIL. On top of that, he's starting to become secretive about what he's watching.
My husband thinks I should "chill and be grateful we have someone to watch them".
I feel like he's completely missing the point. I'm not concerned about the tv, I'm concerned about his behaviour lately.

I hear you about being worried about your son. He’s picking up the on the tense vibes around the TV stuff and responding. He’s being deprived of time outside and replacing it with screen time which would have anyone feeling out of sorts, especially a child. I think it makes more sense to be worried about your MIL and how she’s respecting (or not) your boundaries. Does she have what it takes to adequately care for them? If not, it might be time to look for alternatives…

I've talked shit about my husband on here before so let me shit on me as a partner for a minute.

My husband always has to go in to get the families slurpees because I get nervous holding a drink tray (I dropped a drink tray as a kid).

He always takes out the garbage because I gag.

He cleans out any food in the fridge that isn't brand new because I will gag.

I'm the only one who has ever clogged our toilet and he had to unclog it because I somehow couldn't.

I make him call places because I worked on the phone for a living (so I hate it), I get really nervous, talk too fast and no one ever understands me. (I called somewhere the other day and they thought I was saying shoes when I was saying tooth).

He usually reads paper work to me and I also read it for myself because it stresses me out and I convince myself I'm too dumb to understand (even though I read perfectly fine). He also fills out paper work.

iPad for a 2 year old?!

I’ve just found out that my MIL has just bought an iPad for my daughter for Christmas. She hasn’t asked us if it’s ok or if we would want her to have an iPad. I’m absolutely fuming because I don’t want her to have an iPad yet but my partner is being very unbothered about it. He agrees she should’ve asked but said she can just use it to watch movies like she does on our phones. I think it’s absolutely ridiculous to give her an iPad at age 2 and that we weren’t consulted.

What do you think?

I've stayed away from certain family members because of how judgemental they are and they think they know best about MY baby

I get it I don't know everything about parenting as a first time mum neither does any other parent but I know MY baby. A cousin tried to feed my hungry hippo of a baby and she fed him too quick and he screamed when the bottle was done which he doesn't do with me or my husband because we know how to pace feed. However, she tried to get into a debate with me about not letting him suck on the bottle after. He had multiple teeth come in all at once so he sucks for comfort for a few minutes and literally dashes the bottle. He does this at most feeds and I told her leave it alone and he will be fine. Anyway by the end of the weekend she learnt. Also her and her sister have tried to tell me when he is and isn't tired because my baby is full of energy so one minute he looks wide awake but within 5/10 minutes he's asleep when I hold him. Its just the audacity of really trying to tell me about my baby. I get they are parents too but even more so you should know every baby is different. Anyway. Anyone else ever dealt with this and any tips how to get people to actually respect me as a mother?

Does your husband call your children names?

My husband gets frustrated with our toddler and doesn't cope well. I am 4 weeks postpartum after a c section and I've had a traumatic experience. He's been calling my toddler a little f*****r and a c**t. Does your other half do the same when frustrated? I feel so offended as I've gave birth to his kids and I'm the mother of his kids.
