Recent loss

Hello! I noticed some spotting on Mon 8/10 & was concerned. Called ob office & they said could be normal. I was already scheduled for my 2nd ultrasound appointment (12weeks pregnant) Tues 8/11 so they suggested to monitor at home and go in for the appointment the next day. Unfortunately at the appointment they were unable to confirm heartbeat and there was no growth since last appointment at 8 weeks. Hubbs & I were completely heartbroken. Then the heavy bleeding started at home with the contractions pain. It was hard! I want to be sad and grieve our loss but I'm also trying to be thankful we have our toddler with us. Im also overwhelmed with the information online about when to try again and things to do for next time.

Sometimes these things just happen babe. I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my baby girl at 14 weeks but I’m now pregnant with another girl and am 32 weeks and everything is going great. I tried to get pregnant again the first cycle I ovulated after my loss but it resulted in a chemical. I now suggest to let that first ovulation cycle pass and try after that if you’re eager to start. It did take me 7 weeks to stop bleeding after my loss before I finally got a negative pregnancy test and normal discharge and ovulated. I think I became pregnant on the 5th month after my loss that’s including the two months I bled. I had wanted it to be quicker but everything worked out in the end.
Many people do get pregnant on the first cycle they ovulate and you probably won’t bleed as long as me, I was pretty far along and I had a d&c to pass baby. I just suggest skipping the first to let your uterus heal. I hope all of this helps. Sending so much love and care your way.

lil bit worried

hi, i had my 20 week anatomy scan friday, and they said the baby's head is measuring small and that I need to see a specialist. a scan has been arranged this Wednesday, they said theyd like me to be seen sooner rather than later, so have to travel to a different city, for a fetal medicine ultrasound scan. has anyone had this before? I feel slightly worried tbh!

Idk the gender 🩵🩷

Had my last scan at 20 weeks and not required anymore. However they couldn’t clarify the gender of the baby. Now I feel I need to pay for a private scan to find out gender or is there any way around this? Private scans are so expensive.

MMRV

Have any of your August babies had this yet? How were they after, particularly in the following weeks?

midwife app

is everybody’s midwife’s appointments the same?

for me it’s always just been one to one discussing symptoms, mental & physical heath updates and talking about the little things ect.
I never know anything to do with my actual baby until I have scans at the hospital but I see other people say their midwife tells them more in depth details about their baby or even some cervical checks to see progress.

Private scans🤰🏼

Did anyone else pay for more than 1 private scan🫣 I’ve just had my first which showed the heartbeat and really would like to get another in 2 weeks as I know the growth is massive in that time and looks way more like a baby! (First baby)
We will be obviously getting the 12 and 20 week on the NHS and then a private gender scan at 15 weeks.
