When should I register my child for primary school in Scotland?

The advice I was given is that if I was unsure if mine are ready to just defer a year, they can spend that year in nursery anyway so they are still in a routine and learning, I think 4 is way too young for school personally! My daughter will be 5.5 when she starts next year xxx

You still need to register with the school you want to send them to then the nursery will fill in a deferral form I'm sure xx

That’s the same with my little boy he will be 5 in the February so 5.5 when he starts school also if we do that xxxx

If I could choose I wouldn't send them until they're 6 at the soonest! They're still so little 😭 xxx
