Hi girls - I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and feeling a bit embarrassed. I’ve been told I’ve got an anterior placenta and I’ve been in triage around 5/6 times since 25 weeks for reduced movements. I’ve since moved and my care has changed to my current hospital. I went in over two weeks ago for reduced movements, ctg was fine and was referred for a scan to double check - that went perfect as well. I went in today because she again, wasn’t moving much - soon as I got there she was all active and wiggling away. Ctg went perfect again but they’ve referred me for a scan again to double check. I just feel like I’m wasting their time and I’m a bit embarrassed about it all. I know I’m doing the right thing by getting it checked if she has reduced movements - I just worry about other people thinking I’m being a bit dramatic! Has anyone had a similar situation?

You’re doing the right thing!!
I went in the other week for reduced movements as she hadn’t moved in 2 days, then the second I sat down on that CTG machine she was having a party in there 😭 I know it is embarrassing no matter how many people tell you it’s fine but it’s much always better to be safe and get it checked if you’re worried!!

I had a little phase where my baby didn’t move how she had previously and I don’t feel any guilt or embarrassment from going in to be checked. It’s what the hospital is there for; to check they are okay and to reassure you there isn’t a problem.
Just make the most of getting to see your little one a few more times before they’re here ☺️

I wouldn't worry about it. You know your baby and a change in movement patterns is always worth getting checked out regardless.
I'm fortunate that my baby is crazy active every other day, but a girl I work (due the same day as me too 😂) had an anterior placenta and gets checked out whenever she feels reduced movements. We also have the same midwife team and both of us were told at different stages that if anything feels off or like it's changed then get checked out. Even if it's weekly- mum instincts are a real thing and our mental health is so vital so even if it's just peace of mind.
