I'm 16 weeks now.. The last we checked the baby and the heartbeat was in my 12th week scan. I was a bit relieved of the nausea now and also not feeling any movements in my tummy. This is my first pregnancy and I'm feeling anxious. How are you first time mothers doing through the early second trimester?!?

I’m not a first time mother (2nd) but actually finding myself more anxious this time than the last. I’m not sure why.
My sister is an obgyn dr and said people rarely feel movements before around 20 weeks. I also have checked (on google and with my midwife!) that if I were to miscarry at this point would I know. She reassured me that it would be pretty obvious with cramping/bleeding etc.
I don’t know if this will help but it helped me having the reminder. I’m 17 weeks and looking forward to my 20 week scan to breathe a little easier again. Hugs xx

I really struggled for the first 16 weeks with terrible nausea non-stop. Thought it would never end. But what they say seems to be correct cause after 16 weeks, it did seem to turn off like a switch. I have never felt better for the last 4 weeks. Im almost 21 weeks now, and things are quite calm and normal for me, apart from the growing belly, which im getting used to. I have only just started properly feeling the baby now, too, so dont worry if you dont feel movements just yet, I was worried about that, but at the 20-week scan, he was very wiggly and healthy. Even though I couldn't quite feel it myself

17 weeks and same!! Can’t feel any movements yet. Nausea getting better but still there :(

I’m 18 weeks and my midwife said that if you are a first time mum you will feel baby moving between 16-20 weeks but it will feel like flutters for a bit and tends to be a bit later in that window so don’t worry. Also in your antenatal appointments you should be able to hear baby’s heartbeat inbetween the scans. which can definitely be reassuring!!

17 weeks with my second and not so patiently waiting for movements to ease my anxiety!
My midwife said they don’t do the Doppler for heartbeat anymore at 16 weeks, at my 16 weeks appointment last week, which is disappointing especially for an anxious mum! I had it with my first and he’s only 2 so they must have stopped it recently.
