Heartburn

Any tips for helping Heartburn?
I've tried Gaviscon AND Rennies tablets, and midwife suggested milk of magnesium but none of it helps. It will go for max an hour then come back again.

I’ve heard that the love heart sweets are actually really good for it but haven’t needed to try it for myself yet. Bananas have helped in the past when I’ve had bad reflux

See if you can get hold of Pepcid or Tums. They’re American but you might find online or if you know anyone who can get for you / send. Also I’m pretty sure if you see GP they can offer something stronger like Omeprazole anyway so probs worth trying that route? 🙏

It helps to minimize the intake on ANYTHING that triggers acid reflux to begin with like coffee, spicy food, bread, chocolate etc.

Lactose or regular milk helps me when I need something quick to help and I’m at home or a cup of water with about a teaspoon of baking soda.

I see someone mentioned Pepcid you can also look for it as FAMOTIDINE.
TUMS is basically calcium carbonate.

I drink famotidine before bed. My heart burn hits the worse in the middle of the night if there’s anything that keeps me up at night it’s the acid reflux (I’m 33 weeks)

I’ve lower my intake on things that make acid reflux worse and try not to eat too close to bed time and make dinner smaller meals. Even then I still experience acid reflux in the middle of the night so again, I take famotidine 20mg at night.

Speak to your midwife about alternative options as the ones I mentioned see if she approves of them. They’re generally safe during pregnancy and the go-tos for some if not most OBs here in America.

Pepcid saved me. I had acid reflux before getting pregnant so it got SO bad in the first trimester, I take it before bed with unisom and I stopped waking up with nausea and acid

All of the above plus only sleep on your left side - on the right your indigestion is worse. People say eat less but i ate a simple shicken salad and was up at 3am with indigestion. Solidarity 🥲

9 week scan

So lovely to see this little one wriggling around on screen with their arm and leg buds, what a relief!

39 weeks 3days

Hii everyone, I’m feeling really confused and a little worried, so I wanted to ask if anyone has experienced something similar. My due date is 26th of this month.

Yesterday, I lost what I think was part of my mucus plug, and it was light brown. Today it was a little more and darker brownish. I’ve also been getting period-like cramps that come and go, but I have constant lower back pain that doesn’t seem to go away. My body feels very tired and achy, and if I walk more, the back pain gets worse.

I’m really confused about whether this could be the start of labour or just signs that my body is preparing. Has anyone experienced similar symptoms before labour started? How did you know it was actually labour? ❤️

Overdone it or something else?

Just wondering if anyone has been through this as the GP didn’t really know what to suggest. My abdomen is achey all the time (above my scar) and I have a winded feeling. It’s like I’ve been punched between my ribs at the top of my stomach. When I lay on my side it feels like a crushing, collapsing feeling internally, and flat on my back it’s actually quite hard to breathe. It’s way worse with exercise, even just being stood up too long it feels like my insides are heavy. Started around 3/4 weeks post c-section

Swaddle / sleeping bag

Hey! First time mom here and I am trying to buy all the essentials. I was wondering if I need to buy any sleeping bags/ swaddles for wrapping the baby. Do you have any experiences around this?

Are you planing to have a sleeping bag for the baby in your hospital bag?

Thank you ❤️

Rolling over

Baby is 4.5 months old - was rolling over from tummy to back but has now mastered back to tummy.

But he can’t seem to put the two rolls together, so whenever he rolls onto his tummy he gets really frustrated and starts crying. I move him onto his back and he immediately rolls again to his tummy 😂 does anyone else’s baby do this? 😂
