Intimacy after kids

I know this is a common "issue" after having kids but I'm struggling and my husband has opened up to me few times about it after having our second ( almost 1.5yrs old). He says he hates having to ask and he hates my reluctance when we are intimate. We currently have sex once a week and he asks every 2-3 days. I'm a stay at home mom and I am with our 2 children 24/7. They have never been watched by another person. My 1.5yr old wakes throughout the night still and has really rough nights when he's teething. I'm touched out, exhausted, and feel like im losing myself. I love my husband to death but I have a hard time being affectionate and ive always struggled with this.
He works 5 days a week, sometimes less if the weather is bad as he does manual labor outdoors. Because he works, I have a hard time asking him for help at home. I feel really guilty. As a result, I have mental breakdowns occasionally.
I do the laundry, dishes, cleaning, and most meals.
He does dinner a couple times a week, and baths once a week to every other week.
I moved with him to his home state so I have no friends or family (besides his). I am home all week, every week as we only have 1 vehicle which he takes to work. We do grocery shopping on the weekends as a family which is the only time I get away from the house. I also have to admit that he has started back up on some old habits that turn me off, so im struggling to want to initiate because of that.
I know I need more breaks and to leave the house more but does anyone have any other advice to help improve that area of concern?

1x a week is more than enough!

I’m a couples therapist and I specialize in pre and post natal women. Something I educate all men about is the changing landscape of sexuality postpartum, chiefly that this is biology, it’s not personal. You literally don’t have the estrogen or testosterone available to you to feel innate sexual desire for your partner right now, making you what is called sexually reactive not active. This means that your participation in sex is based on if you feel like it would be beneficial to you to have sex with your partner because it would relieve stress, create connection, or it’s just been awhile. Not because you genuinely feel libidinal attraction to him. Once he can accept that fact, that this biology and not personal, he can reframe his role as the pursuer and not be bothered that he has to initiate.

I’ve not even had baby yet and we’re down to 1 time a week 😅
There are other forms of intimacy that are far less taxing/tiring than sex, I know it isn’t the same but could he compromise in that way? I mean things like snuggling on the sofa, a really passionate kiss that doesn’t have to lead to anything, a proper catch up at the end of the day once kiddies are asleep and you’ve got 15 mins with no distractions, 5 minutes worth of a foot or shoulder rub? 😌 x

The fact that your talking is a goos sign but things changes even if you were consistently "ready to jump his bones" the reality of your home life just doesn't allow it. You have to plan and work together. You also have to both remember this is a full time job you are doing. Stop and think for a moment if you hire someone to be home with the kids what would you expect them to being and what are you doing on top of that work everyday to take care of your home. Also you need to both consider what would he being doing everyday when he gets home from work if he didnt have a wife doing everything at home. Understanding his hard days work is good and kind but doeant mean you need to carry the full burden of the family. Continue talking and talking deeper and more honest with each other. If you feel protected from the burden of carrying it all, given time and consideration as a women you might find if not a desire in yourself a desire to provide for him grow.

Asking every 2-3 days drives me insane. I'm asexual and we do once every month or less, so take my advice with a grain of salt, but I really don't like it when men are like "but my weewee" when you've been doing manual labor 24/7 and he gets off days. Maybe if he did more to help you'd have the energy to start feeling more receptive. The problem is the need to ask. We're already so exhausted that creating a task list pushes us over the brink so we just swallow it and do it.

Ask him to give you a massage. No pressure, no promise of sex after. You need to be relaxed and he needs to put some effort into making you feel good. It’s not your job to pleasure him once a week or every couple days. It’s mutual and when you’re feeling pressured it just becomes a job and of course you’re not going to enjoy it. Dim the lights, lay down, get some lotion or oil for him to rub on you. You deserve a massage and you deserve to feel good. If he does it right he probably will get laid lol

Picture it as another job 😂 he loves you and is attracted to you and wants to connect with you so it’s natural and when he ask it feels like like is not wanted he works hard all day and is looking forward to so relax time. I would try to save some energy for him and ask him to do a few things so that you can be ready

Still not toilet trained

Is anyone else’s little still not toilet trained? He turned 4 at the beginning of this month and he’s just not getting it at all. He knows when he’s done a wee or poo but always tells us after not before.

We’ve tried absolutely everything, books, timers, training pants, no bottoms, rewards etc

He starts reception in just over a week and I am so stressed about it

I have 2 other children under 3 and I’m also 27 weeks pregnant with our 4th and final child and it’s just getting way too much to handle

I feel like everything else has clicked and runs smoothly like bedtime/naps/food etc he even had a completely smooth transition to no dummy’s at all and he sleeps fine all the way through at night in his own bed and everything

It’s literally just this one thing that seems to be impossible

family drama

this may come across in the wrong manner and if it does , apologies , i’m extremely frustrated and hurt , i have just found out that my sister is also pregnant (older sister) however i have not spoken to her in a couple years (on her terms , i have tried several times to contact her and have simply got no response) there was no argument to have caused the divide , she simply just cannot be bothered with me anymore , well my other older sister was very social with me in the beginning of my pregnancy and now that it’s out that my sister is also pregnant she’s not bothered with me , it’s extremely hurt me to the point where people on that side of the family who haven’t even commented on my announcement have made more of an effort with her than me , my heart is physically aching and i just needed to rant

My 3 year old has just moved from nursery to starting pre school. He only did 2 days a week at nursery. Pre school is free 9-3 Monday to Friday term time. I work 3 days.

I feel guilty sending him 5 days, even though he loves it when he did settling in sessions. I would clean the house and get things done. Only 1 year until he starts school 5 days a week

What can I get at the service station for 7 month old?

Any ideas for what I can grab at services on a 5 HR road trip? It'll most likely be at midday, having breakfast before we leave. Staying at someone else's house and I don't have facilities to make something beforehand? BLW.
