When I put my 19week old to bed on an evening he likes to fall to sleep with a dummy. However when I lay him down to sleep and put his dummy in he either pulls it out or knocked it out with his hands when rubbing his face or chewing his finger. He only touches his face when the dummy is in his mouth. Other than that he doesn’t touch his face but he will cry when he takes the dummy out.
It takes me about 45 mins each evening for him to fall asleep as I’m just fighting him with his dummy.
He does show signs of tiredness so it’s not like he isn’t tired enough.
Any tips on what I can do? And is anyone else experiencing the same thing?

We’re in the same situation although mine does it during the night rather than at the start! It’s so frustrating and I’m not sure how I’m going to put him in his own room and still continue to put his dummy back in constantly.. sorry no advice but I am in the same position if that helps hahah

Very similar….
Baby wants the dummy but also hands in her mouth…
Although this has gotten better the last week or so, and during this time we’ve transitioned out of a swaddle, so not sure if a development thing? Fingers crossed 🤞
Takes us anywhere from 0-20 mins to resettle once we pop her down at night and eventually she gets bored of her hands.

I’m going to try and give him a comforter or something to hold so he is distracted from touching his dummy. He does it through the night aswell.
We shall see 🫠
So we only have this problem at night and it’s only a recent thing. So my son has been feeding a lot at night. Every 2 hours or so and completely emptying both sides before going back to sleep. This means his nappies at every wake up are extremely full. Every time I change him he pees or there is so much in the nappy it ends up all over his back and I have to change his clothes. I have tried a tissue over, I’ve tried putting the new nappy on and pulling the old one from under it (I guess like the knicker trick some of you may have done as kids) and it is still everywhere. I’m already exhausted getting up so often and having to do a full clothing change at night is a nightmare… please help!

My 3 week old takes at least 1-2hrs to fall back asleep after her midnight feed, any tips to get her to sleep quicker? I rock her til my arms fall off, she doesn’t give a shit about white noise and startles herself awake a lot 😩 and any tips on transferring her to her cot without her waking up cos her sweaty head was sticking to my arm would be grand too! Thank you. ❤️

Anyone else get anxiety towards the end of the day knowing their baby is going through a sleep regression? We are trying to sleep train him and night 1 went amazing, while night 2 was worse than the NB trenches.. I can literally feel my heart racing as the clock approaches his bedtime 😭 I don’t know if we should just accept that we are in the thick of it and try to sleep train him later or keep going?? Any advice helps PLEASE!!
(If you are anti-sleep training please scroll past this post as my husband and I have already decided we 100% are sleep training.)
