Would you compare 9/11 to the tragedy of the Titanic?

I seem to have an unpopular opinion. or maybe I'm just biased because I experienced it.

Compare in what sense?

Avatar

People compare these two things? 😅

Avatar

This got to be bait right? They are entirely different in like nearly every way so how could anyone compare except maybe to say both events were tragic in their own ways

Avatar

one was an accident. the other was on purpose.

Avatar

Depends which way you are looking at it I guess. They are both tragedies where thousands of innocent people lost their lives.

Avatar

There’s a huge difference between the accidental sinking of a ship and the purposeful bombing of buildings.

Avatar

Both were tragic events with unnecessary loss of life, both were huge moments in modern history but I wouldn’t compare them. It’s distasteful to make Titanic kids slides but 9/11 is still in living memory for most of us and changed the world.

Avatar

I don’t compare tragedies. Cuz I just don’t think comparing things is necessary. Both were horrific and tragic. Bt I don’t see the point of ppl comparing them. It’s like comparing the transatlantic slave trade to the holocaust. Ppl suffered & died in the hands of other people bt it’s wasn’t the same thing so it’s silly to compare

Avatar

Depends on who you’re speaking to. Both are considered by some planned tragedies to forward a political agenda. 9/11 has its conspiracies about being a demolition not a plane crash to allow the U.S. to get involved in the Middle East and the titanic has conspiracies about being sunk to allow for the creation of the federal reserve

Avatar

Those two tragedies are not comparable at all except that they are tragic and people died.

I think the person that pointed out 9/11 was just trying to put it into perspective that the ride is making a joke out of a tragic event. They picked something more unfortunately relatable in time.

No I would not. I saw people do that on that post and was so baffled I had to just scroll away

Gender

I’m 26 weeks pregnant and I was told I was having a girl by 2 different sonographers yet for some reason I have a feeling it’s a boy and I can’t get that thought out of my head . Is anyone else experiencing this
Added a picture of my 16 week scan 🩷

Baby’s head size

Hi everyone, I’m a first time mum and at my 32 week growth scan, the head was measuring about 35 weeks. The overall estimated fetal weight is on the 70th percentile and abdomen on 50th percentile. I can’t stop worrying about the big head size and thinking I won’t be able to give birth if it’s that big. Has anyone had any experience of this? Could it even out at my next growth scan?

Girl or boy?

I had a 13 week scan and wondered what everyone’s predictions would be for gender? Or if it’s unclear?

Second Baby - Birth Plan Appointment

For all of you who have had a baby already, what was your midwife app for the birth plan like?

Mine was done within 15 mins including BP check & listening to baby’s HR

The midwife literally said are you happy for the same as previously and to have midwives around - then nothing else.
Just seemed to be rushed and was wondering if this was just the norm the second time round? I remember with my first the MW came to the house & explained everything she possibly could
