Birth Control

I bled hard while on my period and spotted decently heavy between periods to the point i felt so sick all the time with the implant i stuck with it for 2 years because the doctors kept saying itll even out... it never did in the end i had to threaten to remove it myself for them to agree to remive it 🤦‍♀️

I avoided birth control for so long but now with 2 kids i didnt want to risk a 3rd so close i had a lovely appointments with the doctors and had a chat about what i wanted how my periods where, what i wanted in the future ect

In the end he suggested an IUD i originally looked into the copper one but it can make periods heavier and i already have awful periods so he suggested hormonal IUD they can completely stop periods or make them alot lighter so ive opted into it i have my appointments in 2 weeks so we shall find out 😅

My mom had an IUD and it came out of place and was so painful she had to get it removed. I had Nexplanon (arm implant) and only problem that I had was sometimes bleeding for 2-4 weeks straight (not heavy just consistent), but out of my 2 years on it bleeding like that only happened 2 times. Other than that it made my bleeding very light or not at all. I got it removed when me and my husband planned our child and I will go back on it soon. It depends on your body though.

I got the nexplanon implant during basic training cause my period was so painful I was curled up crying and vomiting during the PT test (that was my normal) and the drill sgts told me it helped a lot of other females. For the first 2 years it practically stopped my periods all together, the next 2 it was significantly lighter, and the last year they went back to being extremely painful. I know the original life span of it was told to be 3 years but I tried to get it removed at 3 years and they said it was effective up to 5 years and I didnt have health insurance at the time so removal out of pocket wouldve been expensive. But it worked all 5 years.

I had copper coil last year for a week and asked to have it removed as it gave me some painful cramps with non stop bleeding even with painkillers was still feeling unbearable pain as it was the only birth control i had so we just kept going with the pull but method and ended up getting the pregnant for second time but I’m happy with my LG is just that i wasn’t ready at the time so I’m still afraid of all birth control as i believe nothing is safe at this point

I had the Mirena for almost 9 years. I chose to use it again. My body responded very well to the first one. Yes, I bled for almost a month after getting it inserted. But now I have low to no flow.
PMS symptoms are barely noticeable. The only way I know I’ve had a period is when I have acne, my back gets a little sore, and I crave chocolate very badly (I’ll legit eat chocolate syrup 🫣)

I had an implant and had constant bleeding the whole time I had it and still super painful cramps. I got a copper IUD next and had it removed not even 6 months later it was AWFULLLL. Now I have the Mirena IUD and I love her badddd I haven’t even gotten a period on it yet!

I have an iud for the second time and have had no issues. The spotting at first is kind of annoying though

When i had the implant in i had a period no joke for 3 months solid. They couldn't do anything to stop it and wouldn't take the implant out for me because it was the middle of lockdown. That said my sister has had her implant (swapped when needed) for years and hasnt had any issues or even a period in 5 years

I have mirena qnd have not had any problems. I did bleed for a while but i love it now
