We want to do a whole class birthday party but are a bit undecided mainly because we have a bully in the class.
He picks on our child a lot and we have needed teacher's intervention often.
The bully made a small birthday party and obvs we were not included. But if we make a whole class party and don't include him, it would be mean.

They obviously haven’t learned that bullying is wrong even with intervention, I wouldn’t reward his or her behavior by inviting them to a celebration even if it seems petty to the other parents but that’s just me!

Talk to your child and discuss the importance of taking the high road and explain what it would mean to invite the bully anyway. But ultimately let it be your child’s choice if they want to invite the kid or not, so they know you support them and they are more important to you than how the bully kid feels.

I would say not to invite the bully. If your child is old enough use it as a learning experience and let them choose.

Not a prayer personally i'd give him the chance to bully my child on their birthday, if he feels left out then good🤷♀️ consequence of his actions in my opinion

It wouldn't be mean. You don't have to invite a child who isn't nice to yours to their party. Kids first lesson in not being nice to friends!

How old are the kids

How old?

I had a situation with my 5 yr old & wondered whether I should intervene, I thought about what i'd want my parents to do & i did intervene. I was badly bullied in school & when I told my parents, they asked me what I had done to provoke it. They didnt do anything. I wouldnt invite the bully & your kid will remember you for sticking up for him. Your kid doesn't owe the bully anything - especially an invite to a celebration

Less than half the class or whole class.
Leaving out a single child is unfair and the same behaviour you’d expect from a bully, plus you’ll only further the divide between your child and that kid and could cause more issues once they realised they were the only one left out

Whole class and hope the bully doesn’t attend

Don't let them ruin your child's birthday party. You weren't invited either

No I’m not inviting a child that has bullied my child often.

Honestly idk, I’m thinking invite the whole class because you don’t want to be on the bullies level, but also, if I wanted to throw a party and someone from work didn’t like me and was ahole, I would exclude them. & if they got mad about it I would tell them it’s bc their mean. So maybe excluding the bully and letting them know his actions have consequences could be the better option.

Nah your child is old enough to decide who they want at their party. If the kids were like 3, I'd say maybe you could invite them, but 6 is old enough to know how to be nice to yours friends and understand consequences of not being nice. If the party were at school, that's a different story.
I had to include the kid who hit my daughter in the head with a basketball, almost threw a chair at her, and chokes other students. But that was an in school party and if I had one outside of school, absolutely not. Also their parents know why their kid wasn't invited.

Something else to consider, have you spoken to this kids parents at all? Are they aware of the issues? I assume they’d be attending the party along with him, so the environment would be different and the supervision would be different, maybe he’s a different child in front of his parents or they won’t tolerate bad behaviour so it could be a good opportunity for them to have a nice experience together at the party, and a chance for you to talk to the parents. Not that I’m saying to use the party as a stage to test this out but, taking some specifics into account, it might work out🤷🏼♀️
Or if you know the parents you could have a chat with them prior to the party and let them know you’re willing to invite him if they’re on board with making sure he’s on his best behaviour.
Either way you can’t just exclude one child as it would be mean as you said

Are the parents attending the party? I think this would be a good time to observe. There is usually a reason why a kid bullies and it's usually tied to things going on at home. I grew up with a kid who was seen as a bad egg but his mom had been horrifically murdered and left in the back of a car. Gossip went around about her and at the time saying "your mom" was something kids did a lot. It would trigger him. I would invite the parents to meet the child and observe the behavior and call out something if I saw it.

Honestly? I don’t like the idea of inviting the whole class. My son got invited to a birthday party last December for a classmate, who invited the whole class. The birthday girl barely acknowledged him, which I didn’t care for as his mother. I think inviting just the kids in the class your child plays with the most would be a good idea. If you do invite the whole class, I wouldn’t invite the bully. It would just ruin your kid’s party, if I’m being honest. 🫤

I wouldn't invite the whole class if I'm going to exclude just one kid. I would just invite kids my child is close with and I would do it outside of school.
If we were throwing a small party, I would not invite the bully. But we want a whole class party and don't want to change our plans just because of the bully.

If you're inviting the whole class, then the whole class means the whole class. If there are people you don't want to attend, then don't invite the whole class.

If you want a whole class party you need to invite the whole class.

No way am I purposefully inviting the kid who torments my baby, to my baby’s own party!
Leave the little shit out.

Why do you want a whole class party? 😂 just curious.
Usually parents invite the whole class + whoever their child may know from previous years, but everyone doesn't come usually. But it's more so because kids don't usually have their own friends and it's just polite. Idk maybe I'm a mean girl because I'm not doing that shit 😂

agreed. Also no teacher is going to let you pass out invites in class if you are not inviting the whole class.
My baby girl made her arrival August 26th with a due date of September 15th via Scheduled C Section. I was at work on August 25th and started having bad abdominal cramping and lower back pain. Originally my doctor told me to go home and shower and see if that helped because it might’ve just been round ligament pain but I already have a son and knew this wasn’t the same pain. I went to the hospital and she failed her NST. The next morning I went for an ultrasound and she looked good on the ultrasound but on the monitor her movements still weren’t right. My doctor called for an emergency c section within the next 15 minutes and it all happened so fast. My spinal failed so I had to be put to sleep. Turns out after talking to my doctor after delivery, I had a placenta abruption! Thank God I listened to my body and my gut and went to the hospital. My co workers had been noticing me walking in pain all day and I pushed through but decided that night something wasn’t right so I told my fiance we need to go now. At first I thought I was just overthinking and turns out I wasn’t. Now I have a beautiful baby girl named Jewell 💎

Hi guys, I am currently 39+4 days (internally screaming) and Labour could come any moment now.
Without annoying the majority of mamas out there, my pregnancy has been fairly straight forward and I have had a fairly pleasant experience.
I’m a bit concerned I’m not mentally prepared for labour and tbh I don’t really know what to expect - my periods were always pretty easy (if not heavy due to PCOS) so I don’t really know what “period cramps” feel like and what to expect.
Basically… can someone explain a contraction to me like a 5 year old 😂? How does it feel? I’ve been getting Braxton Hicks so will early labour feel the same?
Thank you !!!

Not been on here in a while but my baby girl has arrived✨14/08✨ so she’s 2weeks old today. Had a traumatic birth to say the least, ended up having to have an emerg section, but my baby arrived safe and sound in the end and that’s the main thing. 6lb 5oz and she’s the apple of my eye. Her big sister adores her also 🎀💖🥹

Sounds silly but will my ENTIRE belly go hard during a contraction?? I don’t remember how it went with my first, it all happened so quickly. But I’m plus size and the bottom of my belly has never ever rounded out, even now that she’s head down and engaged (I’m 39 weeks). It’s all flabby and jiggly. I feel like this part isn’t going to go hard? It just jiggles, all the time 🙈😂
