Colic baby

When did your baby’s colic start to get better? Our LO is 4 weeks old (corrected) and has for the past week been showing signs of colic. He cries all hours of the night for no apparent reason, I’m at my wits end already and it’s only just begun! I have read online that symptoms peak at 6 weeks and start to get better from there, usually disappearing at 3/4 months old. This feels like forever away 😭😭 I cant bare to see my baby like this for another 6-8weeks. Please tell me it’s gets easier soon? What are your experiences?

I think our little one was around 3months. I’m so sorry you’re going through it, it is TOUGH. You can’t see the end in sight but I promise it does get better. We tried everything, gp visits with infacol and gaviscon. I even called OOH one evening because I was sure my baby couldn’t be in that much pain/discomfort and i couldn’t console her, I thought this must be more than colic. Nothing helped.
We tried reducing oz per feed and feeding little and often (every 1.5 hours) and burping after every ounce. Trying not to overfeed her too!
The bath helped when she was having a particularly bad night or laying with the sound machine on full blast and a projector on the ceiling. Sometimes distraction helped the most.
Our girlie was breach up until birth, we went to see a chiropractor and I do think this helped too, because it can help digestion. I really empathise with you - I didn’t leave the house for weeks in fear she would ‘kick off’ when we were out.
It does get easier I PROMISE.

Got better within a few days of starting infacol, stopped by 8 weeks

For us only when he was 6mo when we addressed the root cause which for him was cmpa.

It started at 3 weeks old. Got progressively worse and peaked at 6 weeks. It slowly got better day by day from 10 weeks and was almost completely gone by 12 weeks. He’s still pretty fussy but he doesn’t cry non stop 24 hours a day anymore. He’ll only cry when he’s hungry or tired now. The hardest weeks were weeks 6-9. It’s so hard when you’re in it and you think it’ll never end but I promise you, it gets better. One day you realise they’re not crying any more.

I tried infacol, probiotics, osteopathy, massages, tummy time, bicycle legs, gripe water etc and nothing helped. Unfortunately, it’s just time.

Water for 5 week old

I took my 5 week old son to the GP because his poo turned green (after being yellow for some weeks) and he started to strain a lot more which was waking him up. Doctor said since he is pooing 6 times a day sometimes more (exclusively breastfed), he might be dehydrated so to give him a tea spoon of water after each feed. He is having 6+ wet nappies a day so i don’t believe he is dehydrated and was told at the hospital that breastfed babies can poo after each feed and it’s normal. Has anyone else had similar advice before because i know water could be dangerous at this age.

Can a 4 years old have badness inside/be a bad person already?

My friends daughter is only 4 but is really cruel. Always has to make someone feel bad or less, forcing them to give her what they have, excluding them, she is always so serious even with adults like she hates everyone and everything and only smiles if she is doing something bad. She makes her friends beg for food for instance and when my daughter runs excited to see her she looks at her with disgust and walks away (even if she later tries to find her) another small thing she tries to get my attention copying things that my daughter just done like asking me to wash her hands (I think is a competition with my little one) and she has 0 respect for other adults. For instance her mum asked me to help her as she was in a dangerous bit of the playpark and her mum was feeding the baby. She said in a very rude way: go and sit with my mum over there. I'm pulling my daughter away from her just now because I know my daughter loves her but also causes her stress as when they are together my daughter has episodes she wouldn't have afterwards. Opinions please

When did everyone’s baby’s start sleeping through the night?

My boy is almost 6 months old and has never slept through the night, he wakes up at least twice but mostly more than that. Last night he was up every hour! He always want a bottle to go back to sleep, even when he’s not hungry and I’ve tried everything to stop the bottles through the night, dummies, rocking, co sleeping but he still needs them for comfort even if it’s only a few sips. Thing is sometimes he will drink the full thing, so I feel I can’t stop offering completely just incase he really is hungry. I don’t know what I’m hoping from this, maybe some advice or hope that it does get better…

Baby bed time - alone?

Is anyone putting their baby to sleep upstairs/in the bed room and not staying in the room with them? I normally put her to bed at 10pm in the next to me and then go to bed myself but she tends to fall asleep at 8pm ish these days but it’s broken sleep as she gets serious FOMO. I would get a camera but wasn’t sure if she was too young to be alone (11 weeks) I would get a monitor, I just don’t fancy an 8pm bedtime and some time with my partner alone would be nice!!
