Just being a mother, how would/ have you handled a bully for your child?

Regardless if you have dealt with it or not, I’d like to hear from mothers all around.

I’d do all of these if I had to. Not sure which one I’d do first. Guess it depends on the situation

A kid once put a video on YouTube regarding my son. I contacted the parents via fb and also the school to make them aware. Thankfully it was handled.
My daughter also had a friend send her a video saying she hated her. The parents dealt with it without us having to do anything. It’s tricky sometimes knowing what is bullying and what is normal friends falling out. I’ve always said if something continues then I will approach the teacher.

https://youtu.be/Am-ywc8-ISk?si=c8HbZIlVY-_2DkKH this video has a great method of dealing with bullies. It's largely proactive. You want to try and get ahead of bullying by teaching your child self-confidence, and how to project it, so they become less of a target.

My five year old has had some friendship issues with a particular girl in her class. Name calling, pushing her over a few times, telling her she dresses like a baby and has ugly hair.. etc. my daughter has really taken it to heart.

It’s difficult as there is only five girls including my daughter and 15 all together in the class so it’s very small.

I have spoken once to her teacher and then I emailed and asked for a meeting with teacher and the headteacher. I’ve also spoken to her new teacher (starts again this week) to make sure she is aware and on it with what’s happening.

I’ve also tried to speak to my daughter a lot about how it says more about her than it does my daughter but it’s been a tricky few months! Summer holiday has been a breath of fresh air.

If it continues into the new school year I’ll be back pestering the school and I will speak to the parents this time.

Parents and school if that doesn’t work my kid will be told to whoop their ass next time. I’d never approach a child

Where is the option on here to coach you kid on how to stand up for him or herself? I feel like the situation would have to be pretty bad before I’d jump to contacting the school or the other kid’s parents. I’d put a lot more effort into coaching my kid on sticking up for herself and not letting it get to her in the first place.

We took it up to the teacher, and the principal. Apparently that bully ended up getting expelled coz my daughter wasn’t the only one she was bullying- there were other complaints about her from others. So the school had enough of the drama and just expelled her 💁🏻‍♀️ I didn’t even need to take it to the parents, the school handled it. Not just a detention or suspension, they fully kicked her out

I never needed to. I talked to the teacher about it. She kept them separated most of the time. After the bully hit my kid in the face, he went to the principal‘s office & I’m pretty sure he got kicked out after that lol.

Bullied kid here ✌️ in my personal experience as a child, we went to the school and when it was not handled my mom reached out to other moms.

As a mother myself, if it came to it, I’d likely go straight to the parents. I wish I had to suffer less and things were addressed quicker.

Oh I talk to peoples children directly. At parks, play places, etc., school will be no exception when she goes. 🥰

Kid got trampled at trampoline park

Sorry for the dramatic title but that is sort of what happened. My 3.5yo and I went to chuck e cheese a few hours ago. They have a little kid obstacle course and 3 trampolines. She was chasing some slightly older girls (7-9 just guessing) and I didnt see specifically what happened but they were all on the same jumping square and then my kid was crawling away crying. She told me they "boing boing, boing on my knee!"

I wasn't super upset since they were all kids and accidents happen and I dont think it was intentional. However I know what her dad would say about it. He would confront the little girls. I decided to just leave, we had been there a while anyways.

But now I think about it and I wonder if I should have talked to the girls about it. Like try to be careful next time or something?

How do you cope??

I have 3 kids my youngest is 7. (So im out the baby stages) Im with my kids all day everyday. Im so tried of hearing these kids call my name or argue over any and everything. I have no village to step in when things get to be to much. I feel like I walk from room to room cleaning and telling them to stop. I just want 10-15 minutes to myself.

When you find yourself getting overwhelmed or out if touch,
How do you cope??

Does your baby let you feed him/her weetabix or porridge in the morning?

My baby wants to grab the spoon and makes such a mess. I prefer to feed him breakfast as it gets sooo messy.

13 month old has always hated meat - if yours did, when did it get better?

She also is sooo picky and doesnt like vegetables or lentils. I have to hide both in pasta.

When did it get better for you? I havent been able to stop formula because I am trying to keep anemia at bay. Thanks in advance!
