Sorry for the dramatic title but that is sort of what happened. My 3.5yo and I went to chuck e cheese a few hours ago. They have a little kid obstacle course and 3 trampolines. She was chasing some slightly older girls (7-9 just guessing) and I didnt see specifically what happened but they were all on the same jumping square and then my kid was crawling away crying. She told me they "boing boing, boing on my knee!"
I wasn't super upset since they were all kids and accidents happen and I dont think it was intentional. However I know what her dad would say about it. He would confront the little girls. I decided to just leave, we had been there a while anyways.
But now I think about it and I wonder if I should have talked to the girls about it. Like try to be careful next time or something?

They are little kids and don’t know. I would just remove my kid and have her go to another area to play. We can’t police or correct everyone’s parenting. I would hope the other parents would notice and correct it, but don’t expect them to. Raise your child to be the one who notices and does something, but don’t expect others to

You didn't see what happened so what would confronting them do when it could very easily have been an accident? My nephew (5) has pulled my daughter (3.5) over by accident a few times when they were holding hands, he just doesn't realise she can't move as fast as him 🤷🏼♀️ She cried and said "he pulled me over" and needed to be reminded it was an accident. Intent can be difficult to explain. My 8 year old nephew is a lot more careful but I wouldn't put her on a trampoline with either of them 😂😂 she's not the most boisterous of children to be fair, she wouldn't even have got on in the scenario you described lol. I wouldn't dwell on it, accidents happen and at places like that where kids are all hyped up they can't be expected to remember to be careful of others at all times!

I would have confronted if I had seen the girls doing something that was unsafe. Or I may have asked them to remember that there are smaller kids around. I have pulled my kids off of the playground or other play areas if I saw kids playing too rough. I would leave it alone in this situation because you didn’t see what happened.

Confronting a child is wild to me. Maybe a “no thank you” if they are doing something or “that’s not nice” but that’s not what confrontation is to me. People should not yell at other people’s children for child mistakes

I would have told my 3 year old to not jump by the older kids and either left or had them go jump more when the bigger kids were done. Now if I saw it and thought it was intentional then I might talk to an employee about the kids being unsafe with other kids. Definitely not confronting a kid. Some parents are crazy and they might end up trying to fight you for saying something to their kid.

Since you didn’t see it, you can’t really comment on it. You could’ve asked them if they saw what happened, but that’s as far as I’d go. However if you saw it you could’ve corrected it or said something. I personally wouldn’t have let my child play with older kids I don’t know. As a teacher I’ve seen how mean and aggressive older kids can be with littles. Just not worth it
To elaborate,
- If you have a baby/toddler that they put your child for a nap when needed/scheduale.
- They feed your children at the times when they would expect to eat (respect your childs meal times e.g. 12pm & 4pm)
- They don't give your child(ren) sweets/pop if they're not allowed those things.
- If your daytime potty trained child, still wears a nappy for bed, that they put a nappy on them.
- The list is endless to whatever your boundaries are for your child(ren).

Our son is 14 months and I was tired this morning and gave him a leftover krispy cream donut for breakfast, my husband saw and got upset about it. Was he overreacting or was I in the wrong? I didn’t think it was a big deal

Hello! I'm 8 weeks pp and my partner is going back to work on Tuesday, he was only due to have a month off but I suffered from post partum depression so he took an extra month off to support me (I know I'm very lucky to have had him around for so long!). I'm feeling so anxious about it, he's a nurse so does 2 12 hour shifts a week and 2 8 hour shifts which is filling me with worry about of I can cope all day with the baby, I'm feeling a little better after starting medication and growing in confidence but I still haven't really took him anywhere on my own that wasn't just a walk around the park to get a coffee, I know they're are lots of groups in my area but I have this fear he will just scream and everyone will look at me as if I can't soothe my baby, I'm just after any tips to make the first week a bit more bearable on my own?

I have two children. My mam keeps making comments like “you’re sticking to the rule book, you’re supposed to let all that go with your second”
By the ‘rule book’ she means safe sleep guidelines, bottle prep, weaning at 6 months etc. I kept my oldests cot empty, made bottles as he needed them and started solids at 6 months exactly, never had any problems and so we’ve done exactly the same for my second and for some reason it’s very triggering for her. Recently my youngest has had a cold and the vapour rub we have is 6 months+ my youngest is only 4 months so we’ve not been able to use it. She’s constantly on at me “he’s the same size as some 6 months old he’ll be fine” and when i refused she throws the same “you’re supposed to be more relaxed with your second one it won’t do him any harm”
I’ve told her countless times to keep her useless opinions to herself. Why would I not follow safety and health guidelines? Why is she almost putting pressure on me not to? ITS SO ANNOYING

My partner has never taken responsibility in an argument before or really apologised it’s always sorry but you made me etc sorry but it was your fault because xyz
Now the arguments have went next level last time he called me names such as fat pig/dog we overcame that, but again he has proceeded to do the same he’s called me pig, fat, I weigh as much as a man, wouldn’t be able to find someone like this but he can. He also said he should have cheated on me whilst he had the chance. He went on to throw stuff at me and I threw something back which means I started it. He thinks it’s acceptable to push me and me not retaliate if I do, it makes it my fault.
I never name called him first but after he called me them names I did call him names back and after he pushed me I did retaliate.
