from how i’ve read this, it seems like you said you do like the name and it does go with the middle name you picked you just have a problem with the reasoning? if you like the name, i don’t see a problem! it shouldn’t matter what reasoning the name was suggested if you both like it - what difference does it make if it’s his friends name xx

If you like the name and don't have any other names in mind, I don't see the issues, unless it's because you don't like his best mate?

I like the name Leo but if it’s just cause it’s after his best friend then I wouldn’t choose. Family is one thing but best friend idk.

Just think of it this way:
His reasoning for naming your son Leo is because it’s his best friends name.
That doesn’t have to be your reasoning.

Your reasoning: the name was brought up to you and you simply just like the name. Your reasoning doesn’t have to align with his

We have a Leo and a Finley that we shorten to Fin x

Why not swap it around so it’s Duncan Leo. Then the first name is after the family member 🤷🏼‍♀️
