Baby gate query

I think my daughter was around 2.5 years old. I ran to the bathroom and left her downstairs, she then appeared in the bathroom so it turns out she could climb the gates. So we immediately took them away as her climbing them is more unsafe than just not having them.

I never used them. My daughter started walking early and my husband had trouble installing it.

We moved house when my daughter was just shy of 2 and we never put them up in the new house.

We had one at the bottom of our stairs until we took the side off his cot aged 2.5, so then put it on his bedroom door instead - he has to walk past the top of the stairs to get to our room and didn’t want him falling down half asleep in the night. We took it off his door when he was about 4.

We also have a house rabbit so had one downstairs before we even had kids.

We only really have them at the top of the stairs. But he can do stairs now. So while they are still on, we don’t really need them. I’d say just before 2.
