Hey! So I'm torn between whether to carry on working or whether to quit and look after my girls.
I've only just gone back to work after my second who is nearly 14 months, my first is 3 in December. My first child has been at nursery since 13 months, the past 2-3 months she has been saying she doesn't want to go to nursery, shes had 2 weeks off and is really struggling to go back, we've had lots of tears and begging not to go. My youngest is also settling and my goodness it's like someone is ripping my heart out twice 😭
After we've paid for chIldcare we don't see much of my salary and we are fortunate that we wouldn't need it so I don't necessarily need to work. I have them 2 days a week and that can feel like quite a lot, we don't have family nearby and my husband works long hours and I'm concerned that I won't be able to cope, and I don't have anyone around to help. But I can't get away from feeling as though I'm going to regret not spending this time together but I'm worried that if I don't have some headspace then I won't be the Mum I want to be. I'm struggling with this decision so badly! Is it something you adjust too?
Has anyone had a similar experience, or can give any advice at all? Thank you!

I went back to work for a year after my first here I took the plunge. It was a huge adjustment. I struggled with it if I’m honest. And now, over 3 years in, I wouldn’t change it for the world.
Honestly, you’re right you’ll never get this time back.
Is it hard? Heck yes. If you have a loving, supportive partner then I’d say go for it. Speak to him beforehand about making sure you get some time to yourself. Even just an hour or two a week, but it needs to be a priority.
My second is almost 2 now, he’ll be going to a preschool just two mornings a week, just to give me a little time.
Happy to help with any questions etc you have ☺️

I struggled probably the first year, but once I made a commitment to dive into creating a community and meeting other moms I don't think I could ever go back to working (until later). I only didn't go back to work because like you said, we wouldn't see much of a difference financially because of how expensive childcare can be. My experience being a SAHM can be hard but lots of things are hard, and its really just about being intentional with time and effort (just my experience im not saying its everyones.) either way you choose, both will be good in the long run 😊

I've been stay at home mum since we had our daughter she's now 2.5. The best decision I've ever made. Honestly some days are a killer and are really hard but then the good days make up for it tenfold! I don't have loads of support, and the last 6 months (I'm pregnant) have been quite difficult and have had quite a lot of mum guilt as have relied on the TV alot more than usual to get some peace and bits done around the house, but keep trying to tell myself it is just temporary and once baby is here we will find a good routine again. :)
My husband works long hours so is often out before she wakes up and she's in bed by the time he gets home during the week, but we do get weekends together :). I have my I laws come over for 2 hours once a week most weeks, and my mum tries to pop in when she can. But everything falls on me 24/7, I don't mind but it can be tiring sometimes, and some days don't get to manage any house work etc, so just have to set the expectations for yourself and your partner :) xx
How do people cope with such an amount? It doesn’t cover bills.
