I’ve just been told I have developed gestational diabetes, I was already worried about birth with high blood pressure.
What are your experiences with GD, did you have a natural birth? Induced? C-section?

I had GD, managed to control it with diet and exercise. Real Food for Gestational Diabetes by Lily Nichols is a good resource.
When I was first diagnosed, I tracked carbs (amount, simple vs complex) and my 1-hr and 2-hr readings for several weeks until I figured out a meal rotation that worked without causing my blood sugar to go out of range and then it was pretty much wash, rinse, and repeat.

Natural birth with GD and high blood pressure xx

Hey there! I had gestational diabetes and high blood pressure.. I was referred to the maternal fetal wing and they kept a good close eye on me and baby I had a visit with them weekly until I had baby. At first they wanted to put me on metformin to keep my sugars at bay but I told them to go straight to the injection.. because I wanted to eat what I wanted with no restrictions amd they said the further I got I would've been put on the injection anyway so I just skipped the metformin. It wasnt bad to me I did them myself and my baby came out 7 pounds 5 ounces which is a bit larger but still a good size... I got induced at 37 weeks because they thought she would get really big. And I had her 3 days agter being induced by c section... emergency... my epidural failed and they had to get her out cause she was flat lining. But besides the craziness she came out perfect and healthy. Thats all I wanted in the end😇

I had GD and was able to manage it with diet. It was a lot of trial and error on what foods worked but it wasnt terrible. I also just find pages from tiktok or Instagram with meal suggestions which helped.
I was induced at 39 weeks, but I dont feel like I needed to be because my numbers were great the whole time. Part of that was also because im 36 so considered old and they were worriwd my bp would spike. Being induced didnt end up working for me and I ended up needing a C-section, but it honestly wasnt bad and recovery has been a breeze (almost 6 week pp) My daughter was 6lbs 15 oz at birth

After I got diagnosed I had a group session and was put on metformin straight away after a few weeks. My levels were still high so I was on insulin. My insulin stopped working and I was induced. I had very regular calls with the diabetes team if I was worried I rang them. I was induced at 36+5 however I was already dilated and they said depending on birth weight as little one was showing small that she would be early anyway. My blood sugar and little ones were fine 24 hours after birth

I tried to manage mine with diet but didn't make much difference, they were going to go to insulin but LO came early at 37 weeks and was a natural birth no issues for him related to it xx

I was diet controlled and had high blood pressure/pre-e (so was on labetalol for that). I got told at around 37 weeks (due to blood pressure) I had the option of either starting an induction that day or wait a week for a c-section, and they also offered me a sweep. I choose c-section and sweep. She ended up coming naturally a few days after the sweep at 38 weeks.
Like others, I figured out which foods/meals worked for me and kept them on repeat.
I then ate stupid amounts of cake after baba was born 🤣

I think I unaddressed undiagnosed GD with my first. We ended up doing a c section. Not just because he was measuring Big but I also wasn’t progressing and they didn’t like his heart rate so we decided to go for it. He ended up being 10lbs 6oz and had low sugars. And from how much I gained we assume I had it

I had GD that was not able to be diet controlled, I was on metformin and insulin injections. I lost so much weight trying to eat right that I actually weighed the same full term as I did pre pregnancy.
Induced at 39 weeks, took a week, vaginal birth with no complications.
I’m 3 years pp and I’ve just had a borderline blood test result for my annual diabetes screening which sucks but hopefully can address that.

I had GD and mine was diet controlled. I was really stressed to begin with but once you read up about foods etc it wasn’t that bad! I just made sure to pair any carbs with fats like cheese etc and protein, it really helped! And also going for walks after big meals, even for 15-20 mins! I had growth scans and they thought my daughter was going to be over 9lb so I got induced at 39+4 - really positive experience, induction went well and baby was born healthy and the day before he due date! I had to have an episiotomy as the cord was wrapped around her neck so had to push her out quick but other than that the induction process was fine for me xx
Hi I’m pregnant with my first baby in January and would love some name suggestions 🩵

Any fellow Mumma’s with a slight apron belly and a csection scar? Im 12 weeks pp and I’m really struggling with irritation and pain especially when the weather is warmer. By the end of the day it’s so sore. I look after the area keeping it clean and dry it just feels like a rubbing sensation which is really irritating and hurting the area throughout the day. Any tips to avoid this or stop this? Anything I can use or do?

Hi Ladies
Just been told by my midwife baby is back to back (I’m 35 weeks) she said that’s unlikely to change at this stage but what I’ve researched says different. Anyone else had this and baby has moved into the correct position?
I’m going to be doing exercises to try and help him move etc

I’m 39+2, I had the worst pressure down there last night and then didn’t sleep well at all last night due to some really weird dreams and terrible backache and since I got up I have contractions every 5 or 10 minutes. Feels very real now!
No waters breaking yet or mucus plug though.

Baby is nearly 6 weeks old and I’ve noticed this week a few twitches in deep sleep, it’s only ever 2-3 twitches in her arms and legs me being me googled and that obviously tells you the worst. I never noticed it until now. It’s never happened while she’s sleeping on us on car seat or bassinet. It’s only happened 3 times on separate occasions. Today I held her hands and she did it once or twice more before stopping but don’t know if I didn’t hold her firmly enough as we were driving and could obviously pick her up. Please give some advice for an anxious mother😭
