Mums with Gestational Diabetes

Hi all,

Well today the hospital called and told me I'd failed my gestational diabetes test. Joys!

Has anyone found any great substitutes for sweet treats that aren't just full of additives? My craving through pregnancy has been tinned peaches but I expect I'll need to restrict them.

Hey! I had the call last week too.. so still learning lots about it. Most fruit is ok but if it's tinned, probably not if it's in syrup. It would need to be in moderation too, but I would have some and test your blood sugar later to see if they spike.
Thankfully I don't have too much of a sweet tooth at the mo, but I have been having full fat natural yoghurt with blueberries and raspberries - apparently full fat is better at the mo?!

Snap! I cried all day after the phone call..
I found a recipe for a sweet treat which hasn't affected my blood sugar - no bake brownies dark chocolate date bars. I just have a small square when I get a sugar craving attack!
After speaking to a dietician yesterday, I believe a small portion of peaches paired with something high in protein would be ok.

If you look on google for a GI diet its really helpful 😊 although I dont have GD its good to follow to help prevent blood sugar

First scan

So I went for my first viability scan thinking I was about 6 weeks and 2 days. She said it’s measuring 1.3mm and we saw a heartbeat!! But she thinks I’m under 6 weeks pregnant because of how small it is. I don’t really get it though because I know when I ovulated🤣 any thoughts? So much anxiety has been lifted since I’ve seen this wow. Think I’ll go back at 9 weeks!

Reduced movement

I’ve had reduced movement since yesterday, I went to the hospital on Thursday and they did the ctg and everything was normal, I went to my routine check up today and the midwife sent me back to the hospital as I still had reduced movement.
The put the ctg back on and everything showing fine and they have referred me for a scan but they aren’t sure when that will be. but silly me didn’t ask why I wasn’t feeling the movement. I was told at my 20 week scan that i have an anterior placement so I’m assuming it because of that and she’s just lied in a funny way . I’m 28 weeks today.
Can people share there experiences or thought please 🙏🏼

First scan - sack visible but no baby

Hi all. I went for a scan when I was 6 weeks and 2 days. They initially couldn't see anything and then they could only see a sack but not a baby. They have booked me in for anothet scan in 2 weeks. Anyone else have a similar experience? I am spiralling a little.
