4th degree tear VS. C-section

Was baby a big baby? Or did the tear come from forceps and pushing for a whole?

I will be choosing C-section every time after having one I was in labor for 48 hours and it was terrible even with my epidural and the C-section was the easiest part of the night and I was healed within a week and my C-section cut is so tiny. I’m grateful to have the option to choose C-section next time!!

I havnt had a 4th degree tear but I have had a c section. I think there are ways to try to avoid the tear for next time. Try not to be induced go into labor naturally. Obviously if you need to then totally do it. But maybe with the pushing you wait until you’ve been 10 for a while and see if the fetal ejection reflex happens so you don’t have to push so long. If your body is fighting induction then try to see if you can wait to do it. Or do a gentle induction instead of full on. Did you take baby aspirin during pregnancy?

I’ve had two C-sections, and I just had my second one about 2 weeks ago. It still hurts, but it’s not crazy pain—more like a Tylenol or ibuprofen type of pain. Obviously, if it gets pushed or pressed on, it hurts. Now, coughing and sneezing? Absolutely horrid. I got sick about a week after my C-section, so that definitely made things worse. I didn’t remember my first C-section too much, but I’m not gonna lie, I didn’t really like the second one. I would still take a C-section over a tear any day, whether it’s 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th degree. I’ve honestly been debating whether I’d want another kid in the future after experiencing a C-section again. It’s not necessarily a painful experience; it’s more of an uncomfortable experience, if that makes sense. But overall, a C-section isn’t bad compared to how A lot of my family members have described their vaginal experience to me.
