Has anyone successfully declined Midwife appointments? I am now under the consultant and have appointments with the consultant and midwife just 2 days apart each time and it is absolutely pointless as they do all the same checks at the consultant appointment (BP, urine etc.) alongside the growth scan and an appointment with my diabetes mw. I am just struggling to fit it all in. I'm still working this is my 2nd, I'm having an elective c section and my MW can't answer any questions for me (I've tried asking!) I have been told by a consultant midwife I know that there's no need to do both as I'm over 31 weeks now and they do more checks at the consultant appointments. Anyone have any similar experience?

Yes my last pregnancy I switched over to just consultant about halfway through. Just talk to your consultant about it- it was my consultant who suggested it last time.

I'm under a consultant and midwife. The midwife had changed my appointments with her so I see the consultant every 4 weeks and midwife every 4 weeks but see someone every 2 weeks if that makes sense. My midwife did say I could cancel till Im closer to my due date when they go to weekly with I said I would rather keep seeing her as well as the consultant to put my mind at ease. I'm just over 31 weeks too.

I completely understand why you’re questioning it, especially with work, childcare and appointments only two days apart covering similar checks 😩❤️
You can decline appointments, but I’d ask your consultant/team to review your schedule and confirm which midwife appointments you can safely miss rather than cancelling them yourself. That way, it’s documented that your BP, urine and baby’s growth are being monitored, and you won’t miss anything important.
You could also ask whether appointments can be combined or spaced out, especially if a consultant midwife has said both aren’t needed.
You could say: “I’m happy to attend anything clinically necessary, but could we review which appointments I need? I’m having duplicate checks within days of each other and struggling to manage them around work and childcare.” ❤️
I am wondering if I have delayed sending my LO to childcare she is nearly 16 months and is still at home I have seen some comments and posts where mums are sending their LO's to childcare from 8, 9months.. i just hope i haven't left it too long and it doesn't impact their development. My LO is very sociable starts off shy but warms up and loves to play.

Had consistent contractions for the last 11 hours, lost my mucus plug and went to the maternity hosp, was having contractions every 1.5 mins when I arrived there yet was only 1cm so got sent home. Baby is sunny side up. I can no longer bare the pain. I don’t know what to do, some of the contractions are so painful I want to phone 999. I can’t do this any longer. I can’t sleep through them, I can’t breathe through them. I’m struggling so so bad

Can anyone help me please. I had a c section 5 weeks ago tomorrow. I started driving Sunday and doing a bit more and I think iv done too much. The right side of my incision is so painful to touch. It's still scabby in places and it feels like it's pulling. My mum is coming to help me today but my partner has been on nights the past 3 nights is IV had to do it all alone so no real way I can just lay down.
Will I have pulled my insides? I feel like IV gone back so far I spent all night crying

For two nights now in a row I’ve had bad pelvic pain and sciatica in my legs alongside period like cramping. Last night in particular the pain was much worse than the night before and made me feel sick. Woke up this morning and the period like pains are still there, this is a first usually if I have an episode like this in the past I sleep and wake up pain free. Also 3 nights ago had a false labour episode at night but that went after I slept it off. Anyone else experience or is experiencing this? I’m 38+5 💀

Me and my husband are so stuck on names! We are due a baby girl in a few weeks but can’t seem to settle on a name 🤣 we already have a son called Luca, so will need to pair nicely with his name! I don’t typically love longer names or ones that can be shortened as I want it to be similar to my son’s name!
Any ideas would be really appreciated 😫🤣
