I am currently off work with a sick note due to Hyperemesis Gravidarum. I think I’ve had around three weeks off now, and I had to send another sick note for two weeks this morning. I’ve already informed my employer that I am pregnant because of the severity of the sickness and my inability to come into work, as I wanted to protect myself since I only started my job in April.
I’m someone who can’t be sick in a toilet — even at home I have to use a bowl — so coming into work makes things quite difficult when I’m being sick so frequently. I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same, and whether my job is actually protected due to pregnancy even though I only started in April of this year. For reference, I work an office job in a law firm.

Hey, sending you hugs🫂
I’ve had HG as well and had to be off for 4weeks now. Not getting any better either so i’m also considering asking for an extended doctors note.
You might have to look at your company’s maternity sickness or normal sickness policy. Generally you should be entitled to pay for a certain number of weeks afterwards it might then be classed as long term sickness. they should inform you in writing or so and let you know if your pay is going to be stopped. Legally they shouldn’t be able to fire you for being ill, its the pay continuance that usually the problem

It’s been three years now and I still think about what happened. I never mention it because I decided to stay. I was so loyal to him—to a fault, really. 10 years pissed away all for what? Something has changed within me and I crave more. Thanks for letting me vent. xo

Are there any friendly, slightly lonely mamas here? 🥹❤️
I need a genuine mom friend o! Someone to gist with, laugh with, talk about motherhood with, and maybe even hang out with our little ones. 🥰
No drama, no competition—just good vibes, genuine friendship and plenty gist. 😂❤️
If you’re looking for the same, please say HI 👋🏽💕

Hi! I am struggling so hard to meet people in Massachusetts! If I make a groupchat would you guys like to join? We can schedule days to hang out or just talk!

It's sad really and I've realised it's so much harder nowadays to find a decent friend who will stick around and who you can have an honest chat with.. I'm 7 months pregnant now and live out in Tenerife with my partner and I really only have him and my mum that I talk to. I've had friends but I've moved around a lot and lost touch with a lot of them and now that I'm pregnant I drifted from the rest. It's sooo lonely and all I want is a friend who I can chat to about everything and support each other and have deep honest conversations.. a bestie 🥺 but I don't want to come across as desperate which I definitely am but a part of me is like f***k it! Who cares? Worst case is I don't find someone and I'm where I was best case I find a new friend ❤️ is anyone else in the same boat as me?
