My cat keeps jumping into the next to me cot, Moses basket and cot in nursery -any tips?

Hi all , I’m 33 weeks pregnant with first baby and we have a 5 year old cat ( indoor /outdoor ) She is very spoilt and well loved and sleeps in bed with us every night .
We set babies next to me , cot and moses basket up early for her to get used to it and give us enough time to train her to not go in it.
But this cat is determined , anytime our backs are turned she’s in there 😅
I really don’t want to keep her from sleeping in bed with us but also don’t want her sleeping with baby .
Does anyone have any tips ?

My cats were the same when I was pregnant , when I was pregnant I just put a big plastic bag or an unused bed sheet over everything so It didn’t get hairy etc. I now have a 4.5 month old and my cats still do it when my baby isn’t in it. I unfortunately had to close my bedroom door 24/7 for this reason.
They are just so intrigued in everything!🥲🥲

Should also mention she bypassed the net and would just lay on top of it and it would collapse

My 2 cats were the same and even now my son is 5 months of he’s not in something (literally anything, cot, pram, bouncer) they are curled up in it!
They’ve got no interest in being in them at the same time as him so I just make sure to give everything a wipe before he uses it.
We do shut them out of the bedroom on a night time now though because the midwife told us they can sometimes smell the milk on and around babies face so can be a risk because they obviously can’t move away if the cats lie too close to their faces. They got used to it within a few weeks though especially when baby cries through the night

Try buying a foil blanket (online or places like B&M etc.) and put that in the crib, the crinkle is usually a deterrent - bubble wrap and aluminium foil can work too

Foil stopped my cat from going in the cot and the next to me. And I didn't stroke her unless she came out/off of the baby stuff. And she learnt in maybe 2 weeks ISH

My cat hates balloons, I know werid but I had some and used it but I put cushions or old blanket on everything and I brought her a chair like the bouncer. She's also spoilt

Oh my Lord I'm glad you experienced the net collapsing BEFORE the baby gets here and not after like we did! 😂😂😂 In hindsight, she was only walking on the roof of the cot because we gave her a roof to walk over 😂

When I was pregnant, I read everywhere 'the cat won't want to be anywhere near it once the baby is in there' and actually this was my experience eventually!

I put foil in my Moses basket and bassinet

Tickling

Do you allow family members to tickle your child? I personally find it really hard to watch as I hate being tickled, and although my daughter is kind of smiling i don’t think she enjoys it. How do you tell them to stop doing it? Or am I being over the top?
My daughter is almost 15 months

Baby breastfeeding while asleep?

My 3month old has started to keep drinking while she falls asleep? As in, Im nursing her, shes suckling, and then she nods off but...just keeps suckling? Lazily, but definitely still chomped on. She fights me when I try to break the seal, and if I dont remove the nipple from her she'll sleep-suckle for 20, 30min easily. When I do remove it successfully she wakes a few minutes later, absolutely furious!

Is this a 3month thing? My poor nipples 😢

C-section mums..

How soon after your sections did you go for a bath, I’ve read your not meant to soak the scar/wound in a bath but doesn’t say when you can 🫣 sometimes a shower just doesn’t cut it for “me time” 😅
Also how are people keep it dry, I have a slight overhang so looking for the best way to keep the scar dry without rubbing it with a towel like I want too!

MIL’s

Is it just me or do most MIL’s constantly criticise the way you parent as a mum. She has never really seen my husband do much other than hold baby or change the occasional nappy, and that apparently makes him the best dad in the world! Meanwhile I do everything as the mum and she has never said anything like that to me. Not even the slightest compliment, and I know that I’m trying my best but how do I not let this get to me. My husband doesn’t even offer to take the baby for a while whilst I rest or take a shower, I have to ask!! It might be the postpartum hormones taking over but I just want to be able make it clear to her that I take care of the baby 95% of the time.

3 month old bedtime?

What time are you putting your 3 month olds to bed at night? Mine I do 9pm but I’m worried that this is too late?
