Induction vs C Section

Hi ladies, was wondering is anyone thinking about booking in a c section over an induction if they went past 41 weeks? Appreciate people’s thoughts and any past experiences!

I had an awful experience with induction with my first, induced at 38 weeks but if I go over, I will happy go to 41+3 and then will accept an induction. I could never pick a c section!

Aslong as baby flips I would probably wait until 42 weeks, maybe a few days over and then I would opt for a balloon induction x

For my first I chose c section over induction for lots of reasons but primarily my health issues, when they suggested getting baby out I didn't think my body would cope well with induction.

This time round, I would consider mechanical induction from 40 weeks onwards possibly, but definitely no hormonal induction

I think I would opt for a section. My first baby went over by 11 days and we had an extremely traumatic forceps birth as they didn’t expect her to be as big as she was. But that may not be an issue for you! So I would have a chat through options with your midwife!

On the fence

Hey, im going to be 37 next year, i have a 2 yr old and my and my partner are considering a second child. With my first I had to have an emergency c section so likely would be booked for a c section for a 2nd. Can anyone shed some hard truth stories of having a second my age as well as having a 2nd c section and the recovery

Tips to induce labour

Im 40 weeks on Sunday and have a C-section booked for Tuesday. I don’t want the section but because of previous C-section due to preemie baby I’m not allowed to be induced - either by body goes into labour naturally or C-section :( - I have a needy toddler at home so would prefer natural in terms of recovery!

Please give me all your tips 🙏🏼

Toddlers are something else 😭🤣

I’m just sitting here minding my own business at 8 months pregnant and my toddler comes up to me and says “who got you pregnant”!!!
I looked at her like “what” and she repeated herself so I said “her daddy”! So she said “why did my daddy get you pregnant” 😳
So I said “I don’t know”! She says “it’s fine I will call him and ask him”…. She grabs my phone calls her dad who’s at work and he was sounded mortified, when she said “why did you get my mummy pregnant”! I couldn’t fully remember what he said because I couldn’t stop laughing!!! Nothing can prepare you to be a parent to a toddler!! 😭😂

Waters broke

Had regular contractions last night for an hour but they weren’t painful. Just like period pains. My waters appeared to break and trickle from 10.30pm last night. Called home birth midwife who told me to get checked in the hospital as I had brown discharge which they wanted to rule out wasn’t meconium (confirmed it’s not). But they confirmed my waters have broke. Got to go into labour ward at 10.30 tonight to talk to doctor about antibiotics and now I can’t have my home birth of birth centre birth 😭 Contractions have pretty much stopped. I’ve had a bloody show but guys what is happening. I hope I go into labour before 10.30pm as I don’t want an induction. Any advice?
