No advice on the c section but im 39 and currently 17 weeks with no5 my youngest is 21 months other than being a little more tiring its honestly no harder for me but unsure if its my age or the toddler that's making more tired lol

I’ll always be an advocate for if your thinking about it do it.
I had my two at 19 and 23, waited until last year for #3 and it’s been the best decision ever.

I'm going to be 37 in March and I'm due my second baby in February via c section after having my first via c section (he'll be 20.5 months when baby is due. Nothing to say about it yet but it can be done 😊

I plan on trying for our 3rd and final when I'm 36! I can't speak on the 2-3 year age gap because I have a 4 hear between my first 2 but I love the 4 year age gap.

I'm 37 and I have a 4 and 1 yo. It's tiring, I was exhausted my entire pregnancy, plus being sick every single month (toddler germs). I can't comment on the C-section as one was spontaneous and the other was induced. As tiring as it is, it's totally worth it.

Less about how old you are and more about how you feel. If you're fit, we'll and happy then go for it!

I've had 2 c sections. 2nd was easiest because I was able to prepare for it and my grandma helped me care for my toddler while I tended to the newborn.


As far as your dilemma though, I had a 2nd c section because I got pregnant in 12 mos. With you being that far in between pregnancies, I think you should qualify for success with a VBAC if you want it.

I had my first at 36 and ended in emergency c-section. Currently pregnant at 40 and due just before my 41st birthday. I’m getting extra monitoring for a few things (age, bmi and had GD on my last) but there’s be total support and willingness to give me all the information for a vbac if it’s what I want. Probably going to go c-section again anyway as my own preference but I wouldn’t be too worried.

In terms of how I’m feeling now compared to the last, largely the same. Bit more tired but I have a child and I’m also doing a masters on top of working so that’s reasonable. We had an insanely hot summer which made the morning sickness feel more intense. I’m heavier than on my first bit all my blood and urine tests have been really positive and I’m optimistic I’ve escaped GD this time.

From friends who had emergency and then elective c-section it sounds like a far more relaxed experience.

I'm 34 and have just had my second c section, first was an emergency. If I'm totally honest I think the second one was worse 🥲 had issues with recovery both times too. You may not have to have a c section second time around though, it's not a given, just depends on risk factors and reasons for c section.
