Teething calpol

If youre giving calpol for teething how often are you giving them? Our 16wo is showing signs and weve just given for the first time and it seems to have instantly made a difference. Hes been sucking on muslins and chewing his fingers for a couple weeks but this totally changed his mood. Dont want him in pain but also dont want to be giving every 4hrs for weeks too either?

I’ve always done ibuprofen or calpol when I’ve tried everything else! So sometimes would be a few times a day or night for teething and other times would go weeks without. Trust your gut. I figure if it was me I would take paracetamol when I needed it.

Nurofen is better, I give every 4/6 hours.

Have you tried the teething gels etc? You can do those fairly regularly. Maybe see how get on with those so you can save Calpol for the really bad days as I don’t think they like you giving it too regularly

Anbesol is the best thing for teething! They need to be 5 months though.

My baby is currently cutting his bottom two teeth. Sadly calpol/ nurofen isn’t an option for us as he throws both straight back up and my first was the same 😭 we’ve woke every 20mins-1 hour for the last 3 nights praying we’re almost through.

Lots of cold teethers, gum massage, keep them upright rather than laid down x

Teething powder for me - works so so well!

Calpol every 6 hours 4 times a day, just introduced neurofen to use inbetween 3 times a day and the Ashton and parsons teething gel and plenty of teething toys! His sleep and feeding has been disrupted massively because of the pain he’s in but seeing slight improvements but I guess there’s only so much you can do until the tooth fully comes through x

I usually try teething rings or powders then give Calpol as a final option- with my little boy we probably gave a dose every 2-3 days, going up to every 4-6 hours for the day or two where the tooth was cutting- my 18 week old has had it twice about a week apart as she has been showing signs

Marriage

Has anyone been told by their husband or significant other that they want to work on themself? But will come over for a couple hours after work then go sleep over at his family’s house. But doesn’t wanna move back in. But you guys have a kid together so you have to clean, cook, and take care of ur child while he just does whatever.

Both parents go into an office and baby goes to nursery - how are you managing?

How does this situation work? ATM I am working from home and husband was made redundant, but I will need to return to the office after xmas. Baby goes to nursery 3 days a week, and husband is doing interviews/building portfolio etc. But even with us both being at home , it's so hard to manage a baby, getting sick/ having to pick him up from nursery. Or mornings are chaotic and I end up starting not when I want to. I just don't understand how you all manage to make it work if both parents need to go into an office? I know (and hope) that we will both be working soon, but am struggling to see how we will cope.

Advice- no judgement

Long story but I’ve been with my partner for nearly 9 years since the age of 15 (24 now) we’ve got 2 beautiful babies aged 3 and 1 and just sold our home a couple of months back to purchase a new house that’s currently going through probate. We are currently moved back in with his parents whilst we was waiting for the sale to go through but I can’t help but be so unhappy in the relationship this past 2 months, we don’t argue as such but I find he is so miserable and hard to have a bit of fun with, I’m more outgoing and like to have fun whilst he is quiet, he doesn’t like it if I say I’m going out with friends even though I still have a friendship group and I just feel constantly miserable. I would never condone cheating but I can’t help but think that I’m missing out on being with someone who is more me and someone I can have fun with. But it’s so hard to know what to do as I do love him and I am so petrified of tearing our family apart but I just want to be happy too and I’m still young I don’t want to waste all my life being in a relationship in which I’m not 100% happy. The guilt is taking over my life 😭

Would you feel resentful?

I’m currently 29, married & a first time mum (little one is 11 weeks old).

Even though I’m married, I feel like I’m a single parent as I’m doing absolutely everything. My husband has never got our baby to sleep, in 11 weeks he’s probably fed him once or twice (he’s formula fed). The only thing he seems to do is bath him for 5/10 minutes at night.

He works 5 days a week, but currently is always busy doing something he wants to do on a Saturday (golf, fishing etc). He’s gone pretty much all day from 8-9am until 5-6pm despite me being at home all day, everyday.

How do I even approach the subject or get a resolution to this without causing an argument? I am feeling super upset & emotional about this. I feel I could be slowly slipping into postpartum depression as I feel this should be the happiest time of my life but yet I feel so miserable.
