I have a 16 week old daughter. Don’t get me wrong. I love being a mum and she’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me but I find myself getting so so bored and find being with her all day so monotonous. I have tried to do things to break up the days I go on lots of walks I try and go and visit my parents or I have visitors round. I’ve joined a baby sensory class. I’m planning on going to a library session but it just still feels really boring and repetitive. I had a very active and busy job before maternity. I really struggle to get anything done for myself even down to basics sometimes like self-care or tidying the house. I find I really struggle as it gets to the evening because I’ve been with her all day and I’m so tired and I know that I’m only gonna get an hour or two of relief from my husband and then I’m gonna have to do it all again overnight does anyone else feel like this? Or have any advice on how I can get past the feeling of boredom and monotony but also the feeling of just being quite overwhelmed by all at times?

This age is genuinely awful in my opinion, once they’re on the move i find it so much more fun and there’s so much more you can do with them so the shit bits don’t really stick in your mind as much. I honestly don’t really have any recommendations but just try and remind yourself that this is such a short phase of your life and it’ll pass before you know it x

I agree with Millie I also don’t enjoy having young babies personally! It’s a lot of take and not much give. As they get older they get so much more fun! X

I always loved babies, before having my own haha! It gets more fun once they turn 1! I promise xx

Yes, I feel the same way! I have a 3.5 year old and I know that things get easier but don’t remember exactly when that was! I have noticed I’ve been able to do a few things the last couple of days but it very much relies upon baby sleeping OUT OF MY ARMS! Ha!
Hello ladies, we are going to cyprus in a few weeks and im just wondering what to bring with us.
Has anyone recently been away with a young baby and got any tips.
Thankyouuu x

How does this situation work? ATM I am working from home and husband was made redundant, but I will need to return to the office after xmas. Baby goes to nursery 3 days a week, and husband is doing interviews/building portfolio etc. But even with us both being at home , it's so hard to manage a baby, getting sick/ having to pick him up from nursery. Or mornings are chaotic and I end up starting not when I want to. I just don't understand how you all manage to make it work if both parents need to go into an office? I know (and hope) that we will both be working soon, but am struggling to see how we will cope.

Has anyone been told by their husband or significant other that they want to work on themself? But will come over for a couple hours after work then go sleep over at his family’s house. But doesn’t wanna move back in. But you guys have a kid together so you have to clean, cook, and take care of ur child while he just does whatever.

Long story but I’ve been with my partner for nearly 9 years since the age of 15 (24 now) we’ve got 2 beautiful babies aged 3 and 1 and just sold our home a couple of months back to purchase a new house that’s currently going through probate. We are currently moved back in with his parents whilst we was waiting for the sale to go through but I can’t help but be so unhappy in the relationship this past 2 months, we don’t argue as such but I find he is so miserable and hard to have a bit of fun with, I’m more outgoing and like to have fun whilst he is quiet, he doesn’t like it if I say I’m going out with friends even though I still have a friendship group and I just feel constantly miserable. I would never condone cheating but I can’t help but think that I’m missing out on being with someone who is more me and someone I can have fun with. But it’s so hard to know what to do as I do love him and I am so petrified of tearing our family apart but I just want to be happy too and I’m still young I don’t want to waste all my life being in a relationship in which I’m not 100% happy. The guilt is taking over my life 😭

I’m currently 29, married & a first time mum (little one is 11 weeks old).
Even though I’m married, I feel like I’m a single parent as I’m doing absolutely everything. My husband has never got our baby to sleep, in 11 weeks he’s probably fed him once or twice (he’s formula fed). The only thing he seems to do is bath him for 5/10 minutes at night.
He works 5 days a week, but currently is always busy doing something he wants to do on a Saturday (golf, fishing etc). He’s gone pretty much all day from 8-9am until 5-6pm despite me being at home all day, everyday.
How do I even approach the subject or get a resolution to this without causing an argument? I am feeling super upset & emotional about this. I feel I could be slowly slipping into postpartum depression as I feel this should be the happiest time of my life but yet I feel so miserable.
