So we share shifts at night, he has baby shift until 2am, and i go to bed at 8.30am and take over at 2am and he gets up for work at 7am, so we both get an uninterrupted 5 hrs sleep, which was working well..until baby doesnt sleep AT all due to reflux. So the past 3 nights ive not even had 5mins sleep from 2am, then expected to carry on all day until I can go to bed again at 8.30p.. cannot nap in the day really as she doesnt stay in her bed longer than half hr.
I had a complete meltdown after 3 days of being up since 2am saying its not sustainable, I physically cannot start my days at 2am but he just turned it into "well we get the same sleep, I get 5hrs from 2am-7am, same as you do before that time and its more than most dads offer so we are lucky"
I do feel like being awake from 2am all day every day, isnt do-able , his staying up til 2am would feel much more manageable in my opinion, so he isnt seeing where I am coming from.
I am feeling so upset about his not seeing my point of view, and worried im starting my day at 2am isnt sustainable for my mental health if she isnt sleeping.
I am feeling so unheard by him😭
Any better tips on how to share the night? We dont stay in same room due to me being awake the entire time otherwise (and him) on each other's shifts.

Is he making sure that he feeds in order to not make a reflux worse? E.g. Pace feeding, feeding upright, ensuring that babies kept upright for at least 20 minutes after a feed, burping regularly through the feed etc etc?
My boy suffers from reflux and although I couldn’t get rid of it completely the days where I practised those feeding techniques were the days that he settled much easier, we are now trying omeprazole as he has flareups that are really bad xx

My husband doesnt really do any night shifts, he went back to work 2 days ago, but even before that he just wouldnt wake up for our daughter. Shes 4 weeks old now and unless I wake him and ask for help, I do it all on my own. We both sleep in the same room and go to bed at the same time. I also cant really nap in the day as she doesnt like her moses basket anymore and wants to be held. The worst night she didnt settle until 6:30am and I lasted until about 4:30am and then had to shake him awake because I was losing my mind. As you struggle from 2am do you have the option of going to bed earlier and almost treating it like you work nights? Your partner would have to have her longer by himself but if she sleeps during his time its easier anyway, like have an early dinner if possible and then try to wind down and even if you manage to get to bed for 7 atleast it gives you 7 hours.

My girl feeds at 12 (daddy does it), 3 and then 6 (both of which I do). This works for us. We do sleep in the same room. He works and is up at 6 when I get up with her. Personally, I think it’s so important for both parents to understand that work doesn’t trump being at home. You both have to be able to function, safely. Reflux sucks, I’m sorry you and baby are going through that!

Have you tried anything to settle the reflux? Or sleep routine? A swaddle sleeping bag? Mine has silent reflux and I'm about to try a different milk because she's been unsettled this week, my husband does our 5 and 3 year old wake ups they can wake from 4 or 5am and I do the nights with her and up at 6ish for him to go to work so I can do the school run, I know its super hard but remember it's a phase and it will pass and that your doing a good job! Is there a family member that could help out or a friend to sit with baby while you try a day nap?
This may sound silly, but I’m a FTM so any advice would be appreciated 🥹
My baby is 11 days old, and at some point I would like to start going out more but I’m confused how the bottles will be sterile in a bag, I currently use the Tommee Tippee bottles and the Tommee Tippee UV steriliser but I read once they are out the steriliser they aren’t sterile anymore? Maybe I’m misunderstanding it. Just wanted some advice on what other people do 😊

We’re in the gutter of the 4 month regression. My son wakes up ever hour at night screaming. We cosleep and that has made zero difference. He doesn’t always wake up to eat sometimes he just wants us to walk him. I feel like im going insane havent slept in three weeks now. During the day he only does contact naps. Next week im going to try to get to stop doing the contact naps but im terrified that hes going to go crazy and sleep will be even worse. I’m going to do the Ferber method week. I need encouragement and tips and tricks if you have any!

My son is 20 months old, and the only words he says are mama, our dog’s name, bubba (his nickname), and yeah yeah for yes. He also does some animal sounds, uses sign language for more, eat, all done, and help, and he points to things he wants. He understands most of what I say, but he’s just not saying many words yet.
I feel like at his age he should be saying more, so I’m considering speech therapy. Have any moms had experience with speech therapy for their little ones, or have any advice? 🤍
