I’m told it’s because they have unhealthy relationships with their sons and trying to exert control over them: helps to validate what they lack from their husband.

I feel you. I have been dumping out bottles of juice because she thinks my little man is ready and I don't want him to have it yet. There is no need. And after trying to be nice and tell her no, and being met with yelling and belittling, I just get rid of it when she brings it home. My little man is already going to be a huge boy. I don't want him developing a sugar dependency right now. He just turned one last week.

Mine doesnt care about her son she once told him she wanted a girl she didnt want him she even told him once that my oldest she doesnt care about her and that its our problem but yet now she wants photos to brag to everyone about her grand children but she didnt even buy our newborn a vest or something for my other 2 for their bday (everyones bday is in june btw)bit she can buy her step grand children toys and puppies

Neither of the MILs I’ve had ever were this way. I’ve been married twice & even though my ex was a mama’s boy & there was some favoritism going on, but that was really only when she was married to his little sister’s dad & he REALLY showed favoritism towards his daughter & bio son from his 1st marriage, so it was more like she was trying to balance things, but she didn’t get involved in our marriage at all, even when we lived 2 houses away. Then my now hubs parents lived next door until they both passed, my hubs bought this property & put a home here, just to make sure they could live out their lives in their own home, my in laws would call to see why my hubs was home on a work day or not home on the weekend, so they were “nosy” & got worried easily, but if they couldn’t get ahold of their daughter or 1 other son, they’d call us to see if we knew where they were & stuff like that, we just got the brunt of it.😂
But they only called us on BS when needed.🤷🏻♀️
Finding it super difficult to make mum friends at the moment! My little boy is nearly 10 months and I haven’t succeeded in anything more than a few messages or if I talk to people in person at a baby class, it’s just a quick small-talk convo and it never goes anywhere! Feeling a bit deflated because I’d love to have a small group of like minded mums to chat to as none of my friends are in the same stage of life as me ❤️
Sorry to sound mopey, just feeling a bit lonely!

Hi guys, I’m stressing out a little because it’s my last month of maternity pay, and I really need to find a job that I can work from home. I’m based in Sydney, Australia. If anyone knows of any opportunities or has any leads, I’d really appreciate it! ❤️
