I know when I see others doing great and doing what I want to do it should motivate me to think I can also be like them and achieve but it just has the opposite effect on me and makes me depressed. Not for lack of trying but because some aspects in my life are not changing for the better as quick as I would like. How to get out of this rut and maybe stop being envious/jealous?

i could care less about what someone else has going on, if we're friends or family then congratulations... but i think it's crazy to be like oh they're doing such & such lemme go do something...
we're carrying A LOT
emotions
work
children
meal plan& prep
energy... etc...
that's cool that they've accomplished _______, IM DOING THE BEST THAT I CAN TO MAKE MY LIFE WORK FOR ME & MY FAMILY ♥️ and so are you

The only way to stop being envious of jealous is to stop comparing urself to other ppl. Comparison will steal ur joy & possibiy make u unappreciative of ur own blessings. Just liken said looking at others “achievements” or “accomplishments” she could care less cuz she isn’t using other ppl as a barometer to measure were she is at in life. She is just living her life, like all of us are as individuals. We aren’t all on the same timelines & none of us all want to accomplish or achieve the same things out of life. So with that being said, u don’t need other people to be an example of what u want to execute out of ur own life. U just need to stop comparing urself and u will find the peace u deserve. 😇

I’m not envious or jealous of seeing other people do well or achieve things. It does motivate me to do better in my own life though.

It does. I grew up with a mom who always emphasized to me that “life isn’t a race” and that things will happen for me exactly when they’re meant to so I don’t really feel the need to compare myself to others. But when I see something impressive it does make me feel super proud/happy and can sometimes give me a burst of energy as well. Mostly when I see hot people/pics and then feel motivated to work out

Yes! I love seeing it, I’ve pushed myself forward in life by following other’s examples whether that’s friends and family or friends and others online.
If I want something done, I’m gonna do it. I’ve also surrounded myself with people who are similar minded though, including my husband.

Youre not broken OP! Some of us have been raised this way, either by parents or teachers or being in a competitive community.
1 side its the stop comparing as above- i use calm app mainly. Also its reducing judgment and hanging out with ppl who arent judgemental.
On otherside its building ur own self worth and practicing gratitude. And telling urself ur enough!
For me it was also accepting that i want a lazy year (or 2 or 3) in my maternity leaves - mums i kno were starting businesses and doing courses or moving house or returning to work early. My child did not sleep and was sick for like 5 months after starting nursery. My focus was him and now its been his brother. 5 years my career been down the toilet and now im picking it up. Dont regret it! But i am nervous about new job millestones! But with all the calm app practice, im not afraid to quit if this job is too hard (well i am but i will work thru that in therapy lol). For me its all about acceptance practice.

it’s normal ..to get jealous every person has experienced jealousy in some form or another
and it can make you feel down if you see someone doing something maybe your trying so hard to do yourself
some people have it easier then others .
but
if there is something you want to achieve try not to think of the whole ladder , just one step at a time. otherwise it becomes to overwhelming and unachievable.
you will get there if you really want it because no one is going knock your door and hand it to you
just focus on you and your success try not to compare yourself to others because there is always going be someone worst off and always going to be someone better off then you

Finding it super difficult to make mum friends at the moment! My little boy is nearly 10 months and I haven’t succeeded in anything more than a few messages or if I talk to people in person at a baby class, it’s just a quick small-talk convo and it never goes anywhere! Feeling a bit deflated because I’d love to have a small group of like minded mums to chat to as none of my friends are in the same stage of life as me ❤️
Sorry to sound mopey, just feeling a bit lonely!

So not someone he knew before he met you, just a new person that he met through work, hobbies, mutual friends or whatever, and became friends with.
Assuming the new friendship is the same as his existing friendships, and the ONLY difference is that the new friend is a female
