Talking at 19m

My daughter is the only child and is mostly home with me, she’s currently in speech therapy and I have seen very little improvement with her speech, she likes to do animal sounds but not very good and she says no (not very good) and mama and dada, just wondering if I should be concerned. She also likes to walk on her tippy toes, just don’t know if this could be a sign of autism.

Autism in girls is hard to detect when they are this young. This sounds like my daughter she refuses to speak it seems like but will speak sentence’s of gibberish.

My 19 month old still isn’t really talking but isn’t in speech. My 4.5 year old son has a speech delay and has been in speech for a while. He didn’t start talking until he was almost 3, which was 6 months after starting speech. I’m convinced there’s a “speech switch” in their brains and until it’s flipped, there won’t be any words.

I will say what speech really helped with those first months was general communication: they gave us the tools for him to be able to communicate (for him it was pointing to pictures in a book the SLP made for us when he wanted something).

As to the tip toes thing, both my kids have gone through phases where they wanted to walk on tip toes. I think it’s just a sensation thing.

But as with everything, if you’re concerned, speak to your pediatrician.

👜✨ Show Me Your Changing Bags! ✨🍼

What changing bags is everyone using for their little ones? Especially those formula feeding!

I’ve got the one that came with his travel system, but I’m fancying a new one — looking for something stylish but practical! I’d love to see what everyone else is using! 🤍

Obsessed with making boys rude

From the moment I gave birth to a boy I’ve been hearing comments about how he’s going to be rude and mess with all the girls and he won’t have any behavior. I don’t understand why they insist and on saying these things just because he’s a boy is this normal comment for a baby boy?

Breast milk

Hi guys, so just want to check see if anyone’s had the same thing happen so I’m not going mad. I breastfed my baby for about 12 weeks then stopped my supply gradually. Anyway fast forward 2 months, it would appear I’ve got breastmilk all of sudden leaking this morning, is this normal?😂😩

Rant about dad in playground incoming!!!!!

So me and my mum were just in the playground with my 21 month old. We made our way to a little playhouse and there was another little boy who seemed the same age, maybe a little older with his dad and older brother nearby.

I looked at the dad and he seemed so laid back he might aswell of been laid in the bushes. One earphone in, kind of looked distant.

I encourage my son into this playhouse, holding his hand. The little boy comes over and basically barges his way in and stands in the way so my son couldn’t come in. I’m obviously still encouraging him to go in and trying to chat to this little boy about how nice the playhouse is.

He swipes some leaves and sticks off a little table inside which makes my son jump so he steps back and this little boy leaves. He then follows us to the slide and he’s using his body to basically block my son. Kicking his leg so he can’t get on. The slide was massive and attached to a massive climbing frame. There was plenty of space for several kids.

It got to the point where we had to explain to this little boy that his behaviour isn’t very nice and to stop. The dad was on his phone still with an earphone in.

Now I try my hardest, even more so now I’m a mum to not judge and fully understand kids are kids and sharing, social skills ect are being learnt but I feel like those kids were in charge of their dad, not the other way around. At what point do you stop being so understanding and throat punch the dad 🤷🏽‍♀️
