How much is your baby eating?

I feel so stressed when I see these TikTok’s of peoples babies eating huge bottles like 7-8oz per feeding and my LO is barely eating 4oz MAYBE 5. He is combo fed but whether it’s formula or breastmilk he won’t go past 5oz. His pediatrician is happy with his weight gain and he sleeps pretty decent at night, but I can’t help but wonder why he doesn’t eat as much as other babies 😅 (he’s 5 months btw)

My LO is almost 5 months and is only formula fed. She has 6oz every 4 hours. But usually her 2nd bottle of the day she’ll only finish 4/5oz. If you’re baby is happy and gaining weight I wouldn’t worry ☺️

My baby is 5 months now and has a max of 5oz too! I was also super worried but he is growing well, lots of wet nappies and is happy so I guess it is enough for him 🤣
I think as long as they are getting enough over 24 hours, it is absolutely fine to be taking smaller amounts at a time!

Go with the wet and dirty nappy output. 6+ heavily wet and at least 2 dirty nappies a day and baby is doing absolutely great. Also if your dr is happy with weight gain etc, that's great news.

My LO is EBF so I have no idea how much she takes each feed and can only rely on the above info

It’s normal for babies to eat different amounts due to different levels of hunger. Those that drink more may likely have less bottles a day so overall the milk consumption could be similar. The main thing to keep an eye on is the number of wet nappies and weight gain and it sounds like that’s all fine.

Both of my children have drunk totally different amounts. My first would drink around 4-6oz x6 a day by 5/6 months whereas my youngest was drinking 8-10oz x 3/4 a day.

My baby is only formula fed and she drinks 5 ounces 7x a day and she’s 11 weeks, but other 11 week olds I know drink more and some drink way less but all are healthy and happy! Honestly every baby is different and you are doing awesome! I wouldn’t worry about it as long as they’re growing nicely which it sounds like they are 😊

My son is 2 now so it’s been awhile since we were on milk. But I feel like I read breastmilk’s nutrients change to meet the needs of your kid. So they don’t necessarily need to drink more milk. It’s always like 4-5oz. Whereas formulas composition doesn’t change so that’s why some babies drink more (or maybe just more often). So maybe it’s that? You said you’re combo feeding so maybe baby is just getting enough calories and nutrients from your breastmilk that they don’t need to drink a lot of either one.

My baby is 5 months and has 6oz every 3-3.5 hours and his bedtime bottle is 7oz. Then he’ll have another 7oz in the night after 4-5hours

My baby is nearly 5 months & she drinks anything between 4-6oz every 3 hours or so, always does 6oz for her last bottle and in the night but sometimes I’ll give her a bottle and she’ll snack and drink 2/3oz and 20 mins later have more. Every baby is different don’t worry!! If your little one is gaining weight that’s all that matters :))

Do better ladies

This app is so toxic.
Nearly every post asking for advice of some sort and if someone doesn’t like your opinion or you don’t validate everyone’s feelings then you’re immediately bullied and bombarded with names and insults. Women have gone as far as making fun of my baby and his medical needs, his looks, telling me to kill myself. It’s also nonstop bashing husbands, etc.
And don’t waste your time making a report cause you’ll be ignored.
Thought becoming a mom would be this wonderful experience to make some new friends and be uplifted and I’ve come to the conclusion that majority of women in all walks of life are just truly horrible human beings.
I’m totally okay keeping my circle intimate. This world is going to shit. ✌🏽

I know she can tell that it's unusual

So my husband has to go away for work, he's been away from Tuesday and will be back Friday night. I am at home with our three months old daughter, well it's going ok we both getting through, I had a phone call with my husband, her dad, last night and I think she was a little whingey because she could hear him but he obviously wasn't there, well she woke up at four ish for a feed and then when I placed her back in the cot after she fell asleep she was up again, yawning wanting sleep but not going, well I picked her up for a cuddle instantly she was asleep, same happened at seven ISH feed time, is this because she knows he's not there and needs extra comfort or am I reading into this because I got another week of my husband being away and I don't like because of her age but we can't do anything about it.

Nursery help please!!!!

I’m due to return to work from maternity leave in January 2027 and I’m DREADING IT, he’ll be 1. I just feel so bad for him, I have such a clingy baby and I think he’s going to think I’ve abandoned him 😭 we co-sleep, is exclusively breastfed (won’t take a bottle / dummy but will sometimes have small amounts of pumped milk in a cup with straw) and I’m the only one who can put him down for naps (fed to sleep) and then I roll away. Not even his dad can put him to sleep (he falls asleep with rocking but wakes the moment he touched the mattress when transferred).

I’ve never spent more than 2 hours away from him (2-3 times). We don’t have any family or friends who can look after the baby to even practice him being away from us.

In an ideal world I would wait for him to go to nursery when he is able to talk and understand that I’m not leaving him forever and I’ll be coming back, the thought of it breaks me!

I’m already struggling with mental health (post natal depression and anxiety). I’m considering taking a career break (if my work will let me), or staying off sick for a few months or paying back my enhanced maternity pay (£9000) and leaving the company! Money will be very tight but this could work for around 6 months.

I don’t know what to do, any suggestions or experience would be appreciated!

Thanks xxx

Keeping Baby Entertained

How are we all keeping our baby’s entertained? My girlie’s wake windows are sometimes up to 2 hours now, and I’m out of things to do😭😂

We practice tummy time, stretches to encourage rolling, reading, singing nursery rhymes, etc. But she only ever lasts a few minutes before getting frustrated, she must think I’m boring😂😂

Ps she also hates her pram so walks aren’t really an option unless she’s in her carrier, but if she’s not tired she gets mad in there too😂
