C section fear

I'm having my first child on 20/10 via c section and will be solo parenting from the start. I've been calm about everything throughout my pregnancy but over the last few days, Ive been experiencing panic attacks and have been really emotional and freaked out about the c section and about how I will cope after the birth. I don't have much of a village so I'll be recovering and taking care of my so, alone, as soon as he's born and I'm scared about the pain during recovery and how I'll actually look after my son, on my own, after having major abdominal surgery.

I guess it's mainly the fear of the unknown. Anyone else experience this? How did you deal with the anxiety and fear? Any practical advice about coping on your own, after a c section? Thank you

Praying for you I'm sorry your doing this by yourself. I hope you have a good recovery and you and baby are happy sorry I dont have any advice I was alone in the hospital and a single mom but I didnt have C-section that would make me scared too. Just remember the nurses are there to help you and ask for anything you need they will help you dont feel like your bothering them.

Hi, can you ask to stay longer in the hospital? I think 5 days would be a good option or even longer. I had a surgery years ago and I asked to stay longer because I did not have any support. Going to th bathroom may be hard in the beginning

I had c sections with both my babies. I feel that a lot is scaremongered into us around sections. I thought I wouldn’t be able to sit up or go upstairs. I was fine both times. I was in hospital with my first for 28 hours. With my second I was in for 18 hours. They didn’t let me go home until I could stand and shower myself, passed sufficient fluids and able to dress myself.
After a section you’re able to carry the baby. For the first couple of days just enjoy the rest with your newborn. They won’t do much either. By the time they’re aware, your muscles are getting back to normal x

I had a C-section as well and I was walking by the second day at the hospital, they also required me to stay 3 days after the baby was born just to make sure I could handle on my own. You could ask if you could stay longer while you recover so they can help with baby. Honestly my recovery wasn’t bad at all, like yes they recommend not lifting anything heavy and the car seats are normally pretty heavy but I didn’t really struggle with getting around after leaving the hospital you just have to take it moderately easy but the babies sleep a lot their first few months.

Recurring miscarriages and feeling so low

I’ve recently had a d&c, this will be my 5th miscarriage.

I’m feeling incredibly low and honestly the only reason I feel I’m here is for my toddler. He is the only thing that brings me any light at the moment.

I don’t feel that my best friend (who I’ve told about my miscarriages) is bothered in the slightest about me and feels as though I’m an effort to message or
Check in on.

I feel people don’t understand that one or two losses is upsetting as it is but 5 is really making me think how different my life is going to be compared to how I thought it would be.

My partners family haven’t bothered asking about me and my mum is supportive but just says it will happen when it does.

I get nobody can help but I feel like
I’m getting further and further into a dark hole and I don’t know what to do ☹️

Movements

I’m 18+4 with my 2nd baby and like with my first I have an anterior placenta. I can’t remember off the top of my head when I first felt his movements but so far I’ve not felt baby girl. I thought I had flutters about a month ago but nothing since. Everywhere (including midwives) suggest that with a 2nd pregnancy you can feel movements sooner as you know what to look out for but for me it’s not the case. I just don’t feel anything. I had a private scan a week ago and she was happy healthy and moving around. With my first I had many trips to triage as I couldn’t feel him and I can see this being the case this time. I’m just not sure when to expect to feel anything and at what point I should raise it with somebody. Feel as if I should know this being my 2nd pregnancy 🤦🏼‍♀️

Miscarriage

I think I’m having a miscarriage. Since Wednesday I’ve been spotting brown blood quite a lot but today it’s turned into blood and having cramps like period cramps. I’m 8 weeks. I’ve called EPU but haven’t heard back from them yet. I just know it’s a miscarriage

Itchy wound 1 week post c section

Did your wound become itchy at 1 week post c section?

Mine has become itchy today and sore. Is this normal? No signs of infection.
