SWADDLE TO SLEEP SACK 😅

Moms please I need help, I am not sure what to do my baby boy is super active. Advance they say for his little 10 week old self. The cutest I must say! Please be gentle, I am a FTM and I don’t need scary examples, trust ive read it, I just need some options, ideas, tips etc.

How do you transition from a swaddle to sleep sack when your baby becomes way more active? He still has the Moro reflex. No he is not rolling or attempting, he is just pretty strong and when swaddled moves way to close to the bassinet edges for me, he can almost fully hold his head up, and typically kicks his legs up, he sleeps directly next to me.

Also, I read I have to move him to a crib when he moves more but I am like the bassinet is pretty large and it’s mesh — when do babies transition from bassinet to crib, the cribs do large and he’s still pretty small.

I read to start with one arm out when he gets to deep sleep but he just started giving us 4-5 hour stretches that I want to find away to help him get use to sleeping with one arm out and then both.

I stopped swaddling and I put him down when he’s drowsy. We personally co sleep so it’s easier to kinda slide him on the bed. But with both my boys putting them down while they are drowsy. My son still has the reflex to do sometimes it takes a couple tries and pats on the back to get him down. It’s just a process for them to get use to

Also he’ll be totally fine in a crib. A lot of people just do the crib and not bassinet

Babies can sleep in a crib at any age. Moro reflex doesn’t fully go away until closer to 6 months. He needs to experience it for it to actually go Away. Start the transition during the day if you don’t want to go cold turkey with the swaddles. Some babies do well with the arms up transition swaddle. There’s the halo transition sleep sack. You can also just do one arm at a time. I recommend starting during the day first and then at night.

I cut blanket swaddles a while ago cuz her arms would break free while she’s sleeping and she’ll wake up uncomfortable throughout the night .

I always do bath time/wipe down with warm water with and without soap and some night time balm for her body, the warm water soothes her and makes her very sleepy even when she’s fussing she’s falling asleep in between..

Make sure hes really just fed , maybe bathed/or wiped down (this helps a lot in my opinion ) and warm rub down and when you put on jammies put him in the sleep sack OR I just recently switched to the swaddle with the Velcro that helps a lot too I use both , currently .

She moves towards the top/edges too , she still kinda does with the sleep sack and a solid burrito in place with that Velcro swaddle. I love both

I moved my girl from a swaddle to a sleep sack when she started consistently breaking her arms free from the swaddle. She loves sleeping with her arms up and the Sleep sack works great for her but every baby's going to be different. When I lay her down to sleep I put her so her feet are touching the bottom of the bassinet and every time she wakes up her head is touching the top of the bassinet because she ends up wiggling herself up there. With my oldest I think I moved him to a crib when he was about 4 months old so I might do the same with her I'm not sure yet. I wish you the best of luck on your adventures

Mum's some advice, please!

My little boy is 18 months old, I'm currently 7 weeks pregnant and having to use progesterone pessaries to help with my pregnancy. I've read it can lessen your milk supply and he only feeds during the night, his sleep has become progressively worse these last few nights, he's waking up almost every 40 mins at max 1hr and half crying and won't settle till he's with me and wants boob. The morning sickness is in full swing and I feel the very little sleep isn't helping. He's never slept through the night and has always had a few night wakes but they are getting worse.
Do you think it could be my milk supply? Has anyone else been through anything similar? Are there things you tried/done that's helped?
I've seen the bedtime creams all over tiktok, does it actually work?

RANT - Health Visitor complaint

I’ve just had the health visitor over for my 7 week old sons 6/8 week check and was wondering if this is ok or should I report this to save the next person who might not be as strong?

Baby boy was crying when she arrived and told me he sounds like he’s in pain, but had no suggestions on what to do and asked me if I still love him when he cries like that. She then asked me to list ‘3 reasons why i love my son’ and just sat staring at me until i answered - I was so on edge I couldn’t answer and she just raised her eyebrows at me and moved on. Asking me all extreme depression / mental health questions and going on and on and then watched over me why I filled in a depression chart.
Then told me I’m making bad habits by holding him when he sleeps, she’s the only midwife i’ve ever come across who has that option of a 7 week old baby? And then said if I continue to go to him when he cries he’ll learn that he can cry to get what he wants so told me to leave him to cry it out which goes against ALL advice online for this age?!

We are at our most vulnerable that we will probably ever be in our entire life postpartum. We will never forget the way people treat us. Postnatal depression is REAL. Imagine the next woman she says this too doesn’t cope with having those things said to her?

Can’t stop crying at my toddler

Anyone else just stare at their toddler and cry because they love them so much? This is strange to me because I absolutely hated the new born and baby bit. I struggled to bond for the first year and felt like I’d ruined my life. Then bit by bit things got better. Now I could eat her I love her so much. I’m glad I’ve reached this point but now I’ve gone the other way and it consumes me with the love, the worry and devotion I have towards her.
If you’ve experienced this, when do you feel more balanced as a mother? I worry I never will.

Breastfeeding

Really struggling with breastfeeding my 4 day old so looking for advice.

She will latch onto the breast but I don’t think she’s getting much. She’s never ever satisfied and will fall to sleep pretty instantly when on me. She has also made my nipples incredibly sore so feeding is really painful.

She’s doesn’t even seem like she’s swallowing anything. There’s definitely milk there now and it will fine out even when I touch my breasts.

I’ve been doing lots of skin to skin, stripping her down and changing her nappy to keep her awake ect. I’ve tried nipple shields which make it more uncomfortable and use nipple cream constantly which gives a little bit of relief.

I’ve been doing a mixture of formula because of how sore I am whilst waiting for my breast pump to come.

Feel like I’m failing and so close to just giving up with it as she’s just never properly settled after the breast.

Please please any advice or tips or anything would be really appreciated x
