First midwife appointment

Not had my first one with this baby but did with my last, it’s a longer appointment as they get all your family health history and information from you and dad :)

I've just had my pre booking appointment.

They went through some leaflets, took my blood, urine sample and asked a few questions. Booking appointment is on the 1st and that's the one that's more in-depth x

I have mine tomorrow for my third baby and it’s just an appointment to book your scan, take your bloods to see your RH status and get your health history from what I can remember. I’m RH- so it’s important to find out your RH status incase you are RH- as being RH- can sometimes cause complications during pregnancy but you get an anti d injection at around 28 weeks if your baby is not the same blood type as you but that’s only if you’re RH- like me. :)

Not had mine with this baby, got that on the 5th. But with my 1st, just make sure you go with a urine sample or needing a wee! Also, no sugar the night before or morning of. They do diabetes check from urine and if you do what I did and have a slush and snickers before you go, you'll get told off 🤣

Yes I’ve had mine - they go through lots of questions about you, baby’s dad and your families’ histories - mostly physical health stuff, also mental health, childhood trauma etc. They also talk you through the vitamins you need to take, scans and tests you’re offered, how your mental health is and any questions you have at this point!

They also do a blood test and sometimes a urine sample I think - I’ve got that bit later in the week
