Health visitor

Does anyone else hate seeing the health visitor? Mine is coming tomorrow they literally called today saying they didnt realise my son was 10 days old so will come tomorrow. Ive seen the lady thats coming tomorrow before and shes just so judgy im not looking forwards to it one bit especially as my daughter will be clung to me which will make it harder. How long do they stay for does anyone know?

Depends if it's the first time it can be up to an hour mine was as they check and weigh the baby. Unfortunately my LO is 4 weeks and we've had the HV out every 2 days as my LO wasn't putting on weight.

I don't like my health visitor - same one as when I had my daughter - so I see the visits as a necessary evil. She came on day 12 to weigh baby and inspect sleeping arrangements. I see the HV as a tick-box exercise: they need to say they asked you a question or gave you some info and then they can bugger off. Mine makes noises about being supportive in terms of mental health, but I wouldn't go to her in particular if I didn't already have support in place from the perinatal mental health team.

When did your little one move out of bassinet pram attachment?

When did your little ones move from the bassinet pram attachment into the next stage? We have a Joie Signature, the next stage is the ‘stroller’ seat but it can be reclined so the baby is still lying down.

Waking baby for feeds (EBF)

Hello, my baby is 4 weeks old and EBF.

I woke up last night and realised baby was still asleep after 4 hours. Should I be waking him to feed/nappy change, or do I count my blessings and wait for him to wake me up when he’s ready?

He’s way past his birth weight now, so not concerned about that, but obviously he still has a tiny tummy and I was concerned he was likely sleeping in a soiled nappy.

I very much doubt this will be a regular occurrence but would like to know what to do for next time. Last night we chose to wake him up 🤔

Moving off formula at 12 months

Can anyone offer advice of how to move from formula to cows milk at 12 months please?
Do you have to wean them over to the cows milk? If so, when, as the guidance is only formula until 12 months and cows milk only in food until that point.
Or do you just give cows milk one day and never give formula again?
Finding it a bit of a mine field! What if she won’t drink the cows milk!
