I breastfeed my baby to sleep for every nap and at nighttime, and I’m happy to continue this. So far, I’ve only left him three times, for about an hour each time, so it’s always been possible for me to be there when he needs to sleep.
The only other ways he currently sleeps are in his buggy and occasionally in the car. I’m going out tomorrow for a KIT day at work (around 6 hours) and leaving him with his dad. I’m dreading his naps and also taking a bottle.
Does anyone have any advice or insight into helping a baby nap without being fed to sleep? Do I need to start some type of ‘training’? How can we support him to learn that there are other ways to settle to sleep?
I know he can sleep in the buggy, but that obviously won’t always be practical. I’m also wondering how this might work when he starts nursery (2 days per week). Any insight is helpful especially if you continued breastfeeding to sleep where possible but your baby learned to sleep differently for other people. Thank you!! X

Dad will find his own ways to settle baby without boob, no training required.
I fed my first to sleep until 25 months. When I worked evenings dad would bum pat him to sleep. At nursery he laid in a cot and went to sleep. He’s nearly 3 now and he’s never done that at home!
Babies are smart they know when milks off the table x

I agree with Yasmin! Dad will have to find his own way.
First time I left my bub for the eve I kept reminding myself it’s good for everyone involved!
She always feeds to sleep with me but my husband rocks her to sleep as can my mum now.
Buggy and car always there as a back up if needed! Xxx

My husband rocks or sways with our lil boy. I rely on feeding to sleep but both hubby and I can also use the carrier.
We used to use the yoga ball as our lil one liked a lot of input. But as he has him got older he prefers more gentle movement
My little boy is a horrific sleeper, he’s almost 9 months old, EBF, and has been waking every hour since 3 months. He’s fine with his naps, but his night time sleep is so bad. We started cosleeping for survival around 3.5- 4 months, but he doesn’t even sleep much better that way than he does in his room anymore. We have tried absolutely everything and I’m currently trying to anchor his morning wake up time and really space out his naps etc but I just want someone to tell me if this has ever actually gotten better! I have so many people give suggestions, but I’m not really after advice, I just want someone who had a baby with similar sleeping habits to tell me that it eventually gets better!

I've got the redkite i-savana set with car seat, my little 3mo has been doing a lot of head flops as she falls asleep during a drive and I'm worried as she's not got proper neck strength yet that when we do a longer drive in November it will be an issue. Am I worrying too much or is it time to look to get a different car seat?
The straps were pulled as tight as we could and newborn insert is removed as she's over 60cm. Seat can't be adjusted to tilt back.

When did your little ones move from the bassinet pram attachment into the next stage? We have a Joie Signature, the next stage is the ‘stroller’ seat but it can be reclined so the baby is still lying down.

Has anyone else received an appointment for a health visitor to come to their home? With my first pregnancy nobody from the health visiting team came to my home until after my son had been born, but this time I’ve received an appointment for over a month before my due date.

Would it be totally bad if I let my baby sleep on their side? Instantly wakes up when he’s on his back 😭
