6 week check post partum

They’re meant to do your follow up check at the same time as your baby now lovely xx

I had the same thing I thought it was a joint appointment but the 6-8 week appointment where they weigh and measure etc the baby I had when he was 7 weeks but the HV said mine was a different one and that I should ring my GP to book it
she said usually they have the date pencilled in but don't send it to you you have to chase it
my GP surgery are also having to delay baby's jabs until mid October when he'll be almost 10 weeks due to nurse shortages
id just ring your GP and ask them to book them all in for the same time if they can x

Yes I was told too they would contact me when I had registered my daughter, but I had to book it. They didn't check my stomach or anything, just my scar and asked if I was doing ok. Then weighed and measured baby etc.

With my 2024 baby I had a check at 8 or 12 weeks. I cannot remember exactly. But check is a generous word for it. The gp didn’t look at me at all. Just asked me if I wanted contraception or if there’s anything I’d like to discuss. Almost pointless if you ask me. I had to convince him to take a look at my scar because I was having some pain and a haematoma.

Mine were together but there wasn't much that they did for me. She just asked how I was, if I had any concerns and if I wanted contraception. Technically counted as my appointment too but was mostly for baby. Some areas do them together, others are separate 😊
