Nipple Shield

Hi mamas, Is anyone breastfeeding exclusively with a nipple shield? My baby is 2 months old and I’ve been using a nipple shield for every feed. I’d love to hear your experiences! Did you continue using it long term, and were you able to transition to breastfeeding without it? Any advice or tips would be appreciated! 🫶🏼

I’m the same. Baby is 10 weeks and I’ve tried to latch her a few times without it and she still won’t latch. I spoke to the midwife as I was worried, and she said not to stress. No major concerns if we have to use it for the entirety of our BF journey but keep trying to latch without. They did say sometimes it can be difficult for the baby as they are having to relearn their latch again.

I was! 🙋‍♀️ My LO had a lot of tension in her jaw from birth, which made breastfeeding absolutely excruciating for me. 🥲 We introduced nipple shields, which honestly saved us - they protected the nips and allowed me to keep feeding while they recovered!
After a few weeks, and after my LO had seen an osteopath, I gradually started reducing how often I used the shields. We eventually managed to transition off them completely, and now we’re all good and baring the nipple. 😂😅
So there’s definitely hope! The shields were such a helpful stepping stone for us. 🫶🏼

I used one for the first couple of weeks pretty much all day but trying to latch him once a day to keep him familiar and gradually when we adapted more I began using it for the evenings when he fed more and latching in the day. Really glad we used it was an absolute game changer. The munchkin one was great for us 😊

Same here, our baby really struggled to latch when he was born so we introduced shields that were a life saver at the time… he’s 10 weeks now and we’re actively trying to wean him off of them but it’s such a challenge, he instantly cries when offering him the bare breast

Second time EBF with a shield, first time around I did 11 months (only stopped BF as I went back to work and didn’t want to pump), I’m just over 3 months in this time. I’ve gone by the motto if it’s not broken don’t fix it!

Baby seats for trolleys, high chairs etc.

Has anyone got one of these from a brand they recommend? Not sure if Coco seat is a UK brand or what it's like as a company?

Thanks in advance!

Nappy leaks at night—what brands or tips work?

My 12 week old uses Aldi Mamia size 3 nappies during the day with no problems, but at night both Mamia and Pampers Premium Protection size 3 have leaked after a few hours. Has anyone got tips for nighttime leaks or recommendations for other brands or strategies?

Sleeping through

Hi all so my nearly 3 week old is wanting to sleep through the night she has had no issues with her weight and is gaining really well. Can I let her sleep through or do I keep waking her? TIA x

Sleep regression or upping daytime intake?

My baby is 15 weeks on Saturday. He used to sleep 9ish-6am with only 1 wake for a feed. He’s now ready for bed at 7/7:30 and sleeping until 7am but waking for 3 feeds! He had dropped to 6 5oz bottle but has now added in an extra one at 11pm. I’ve tried him with some 6oz bottles in the day but he struggled with them. What’s going on? Do I need to ride it out or try and up his daytime intake?

Toddler not listening

Ok my 2 yr old does not listen to me. I know everyone says that but what do you do when it starts lol. We were walking on the side walk and he just took off (he’s never done that before) I was running yelling after me and he was laughing. I got so scared because we live on a boulevard so it’s busy. But just lately he’s been saying no no no to me and runs away. Idk what to do especially in situations like this that are dangerous.
