Did anyone else have an epidural that only worked on one side of their body? My left side went numb but my right side was staying to party.
I could also still move both limbs and walk immediately after birth. I raised it to the anaesthetist at the time and increased the dose/rotated me like a chicken, but we agreed for me to just power through rather than wait any longer.
It’s our me off a second birth tbh.

Means they didn’t insert it correctly

I have scoliosis, and I had that experience too. It took them almost 1.5hrs to place it, for me to feel it work on both sides (leg numbness). Of course, when I was giving birth, I couldnt feel my legs, but I felt everything else going on inside. Every birth is different I guess?

I felt it in both sides but could move my left leg around but my right side was competely gone i couldn't move it at all🫠

Yes same! I had two in case the first one was done incorrectly, but the same thing happened. Was numb on the left but could feel every damn contraction on the right side. The anaesthetist told me this happens to 1 out of every 8 patients. The pain was so bad I was given fentanyl - apparently I fell asleep so it must have been good 🤣 If the epidural doesn’t work during your next birth, you could always ask for fentanyl.

Mine didn’t work at all I had two first one wasn’t in the right place second one something went wrong so the medicine wasn’t even going into my back it was leaking the whole bed was wet I could move everything the pain in my back was agony as baby was back to back so I was stuck in one position for 15hrs until they fixed it and I could get some sleep ended up in a c section anyways

My right side went completely numb, almost painfully numb (think when your leg falls asleep and you get the painful tingles) while my left side went only slightly numb which was great since my LO decided to sit on my left hip bone all of labor 🙄
Arrived 01/10/2026 via elective c-section at 38 weeks. 8lb 8oz of pure scrumminess 🩵

Hi all; I’m due to have a C section at RUH Bath in 2 weeks and my husband is very worried about scrubs fitting - he is approx 4XL. Any tips especially from RUh but other hospitals helpful, thanks.

My son is nearly 5 months old and he’s not showing any signs of even the slightest bit of being interested in rolling over. I practice with him all the time. I’m an anxious mum and I just worry he’s behind on his milestones😩

Obviously I know it’s whenever I feel ready but I had an episiotomy and a 3rd degree tear so when am I okay to even try anything, not even the full thing?

Has anybody actually found anything that helps to make a B belly baby bump look rounder? I hate that I just looked fat all the way through my first pregnancy ( for reference I'm size 16-18) and want to find something that will smooth out the center line ready for maternity photos this time round? Any advice please?

My first pregnancy went fine no complications was having extra scans due to low lying placenta. At 32+4 I had a bleed so went to PAU and was told id be kept in and monitored for 24 hours but whilst in there had another bleed so the decision was made to have an emergency c section. I was told after it was a placenta abruption but they couldn’t confirm the cause baby was in NICU for 4-5 weeks. Im now 23+6 with my second pregnancy and have felt fine throughout, classed as high risk for pre term so under a consultant. I was considering natural delivery but recently have started to get the horrors reading up about VBAC. Would anyone like to share their experience?
