My first pregnancy went fine no complications was having extra scans due to low lying placenta. At 32+4 I had a bleed so went to PAU and was told id be kept in and monitored for 24 hours but whilst in there had another bleed so the decision was made to have an emergency c section. I was told after it was a placenta abruption but they couldn’t confirm the cause baby was in NICU for 4-5 weeks. Im now 23+6 with my second pregnancy and have felt fine throughout, classed as high risk for pre term so under a consultant. I was considering natural delivery but recently have started to get the horrors reading up about VBAC. Would anyone like to share their experience?

What horror stories have you been reading that you're particularly concerned about?
There are risks with vbacs but there are also risks with c sections. You just have to weigh up all the risks, the likelihood of them happening, and make a decision that feels right for you.
Have you heard of the BRAINS approach when making clinical decisions for yourself?

Just to add, I wanted a vbac but unfortunately didn't get one.
My main concern with one was uterine rupture but I had a very thorough conversation with the consultant surgeon and maternity midwife about this. They took me through the risk of it happening, what would happen if it did happen, different potential outcomes and the likelihood of each one. I felt really reassured after that conversation and was still happy to go ahead with a vbac.

Hi, I just had a vbac 8 weeks ago after a previous section 4 years ago. I was told all the way through there were all these risks and this and that but it went absolutely fine, small tear but that was from pushing with an epidural🙃
I did actually under the pre-term team have an internal scan as part of a study that looked into pre-term births and the causes, it meant that they looked at my scar from the inside to determine how it healed and gave me an insight into my chances of rupture, giving me that extra piece of mind regarding going forward in trying for a vbac at all🙂 would anything like this be available from your pre-term team?
I think vbacs are wonderful and I'll forever feel lucky for getting mine but there are so many factors in labour that have to line up for it to go well, I personally planned mentally for it to lead to a c-section so anything other than that at that point was a pleasant success x
Arrived 01/10/2026 via elective c-section at 38 weeks. 8lb 8oz of pure scrumminess 🩵

Hi all; I’m due to have a C section at RUH Bath in 2 weeks and my husband is very worried about scrubs fitting - he is approx 4XL. Any tips especially from RUh but other hospitals helpful, thanks.

My son is nearly 5 months old and he’s not showing any signs of even the slightest bit of being interested in rolling over. I practice with him all the time. I’m an anxious mum and I just worry he’s behind on his milestones😩

Obviously I know it’s whenever I feel ready but I had an episiotomy and a 3rd degree tear so when am I okay to even try anything, not even the full thing?

Has anybody actually found anything that helps to make a B belly baby bump look rounder? I hate that I just looked fat all the way through my first pregnancy ( for reference I'm size 16-18) and want to find something that will smooth out the center line ready for maternity photos this time round? Any advice please?
